What are you saving your reward points/miles for?

I travel a good bit for work and have found that having a big trip that I'm saving up for helps with morale. Recently I've done NYC, Disney, Beach (Destin), etc. On top of nearly a dozen great trips over the years. Free hotels and flights.
What are you saving for? My calendar is wide open and the points are stacking up. Need some ideas. TIA

Couldn't agree with this more.
I'm planning to use mine for a Costa Rica trip. I've got more than enough for flights on United, so I may use some to take my wife to NYC for her 30th birthday. I just need to save some points that are more useful for other parts of the trips now.

Good question as I have nothing on the radar right now.
I got about 260k AA miles that maybe some day will be usable, and I'm back up to 100k Chase UR.
Have my Peru trip in two weeks (biz both ways) and South Africa next March (biz there, econ back), but then the wife wants to have a kid so.....
I like to think I'm leaning Croatia. I think that is the new tops on my running list and would be travel time/kid friendly.
The planning gets me through the day, though the Date Duration calculator website is a real bummer when the return is "200 days" til vacation or whatever.

I just used most of my ihg reward points for a long weekend in Charleston over memorial day.
Saved about $800, but now I only have 45000 points left

I saved mine for a while for this year. I am 8 weeks from my 2017 Mega vacation
Like stated above, the flight for two was a lot of miles but very little cash (tax). Was a nice little bonus for a big trip for us.
Punta Cana (8 days) ----> Riviera Maya (8 days) ------> Cabo (8 days)
Almost time to go.

Like my vacation time I accrue at work, I don't save it.
I get a new CC every other year with a good sign on bonus and usually use those points for airfare and whatever I accumulate point wise through the year on the other card gets me basically one free trip (airfare) a year. Beyond that I don't really do any overnight travel for work so from time to time I'll accumulate enough Hilton Honors points for a free night but thats about it.

Sitting on about 225K UR points, plus 100K Delta miles. Probably booking a trip to Italy this fall (Venice to Rome, and points in between).

I wish I had the patience to save them up. I spend them as fast as they come in. Wish I was kidding.

Business Class to Greek Isles

Use my United rewards to fly business class on asiana to Osaka, Japan, then vacationed there and Seoul, then flew economy back from seoul
I forgot how many points it was, but it saved about $1200 I would've spent on an economy ticket and I got to do biz class on one way.
I had been holding onto them for a while. United's economy plus options have gotten way shittier lately so I figured it was better to use than to hold onto

Not sure, but I'm sitting on 890K Hilton points right now. My wife wants to go to Bora Bora.

Planning on Vietnam in Feb, but just liquidated all my UR points on my recent Spain trip.
Hopefully I'll accumulate enough by then that I can get some free stays or something.
Would like em for the flight but doubt I'll have enough by the time I book that. Although I do have enough SW points to get me anywhere in the US. Usually I keep my eye out for super cheap international flights from other cities (MSY never has decent international flights) and use my SW points to get me there.
It's been a good strategy so far.

About a dozen weddings/bachelor parties and such, unfortunately.

Just spent my 280,000 Hilton points at one of their resorts for four nights. Probably wasn't the best spend for value as it was only 4 nights, but it did save me from spending the $1650 on room.
Next fall will be our 20th anniversary and we are just trying for s simple Napa trip. I'm thinking of getting the Chase saphire next month and then the Marriott card a few months later. They are offering 80k bonus right now. With some spend on both. Arcs over next 9 months I'm sure we can get four nights and at least one flight paid for.
No huge trips yet as we like to take the kids on one or two trips a year
