I always buy cheap ones and they start tearing up within a year.

I got a $30 one from Duluth Trading a few years ago that's held up extremely well.

I'm wearing a leather belt I bought in high school 17 years ago from Abercrombie. Plain leather strap. Held up well.

I still have leather belts from high school that are holding up. What brands are tearing up?

You are buying two-ply belts that are glued together.

Buy a solid bridle-leather belt and it should outlast you.

I have a Cole Haan belt I've worn 10 plus years and still looks great.

Columbia makes a leather belt that holds up well. I bought one in a store and a second off Amazon. Bought second because the first did not have enough room for my 40 IWB.

Saddleback belts are great. High priced but will last forever.

I paid $85 plus tax for a good RL one in 2010. The leather is still like new, although the buckle is just now starting to wear out.

You get what you pay for. I find if you buy the more expensive quality item you actually end up saving money in the long run than if you buy cheap and have to replace it more often.
