Dinner at the house, 3-4 glasses of red wine outside with the wife & 2yo who was bouncing around and wanted to go play in 'daddy's red truck'.

So i went over to truck which is in my driveway, got in with him and put the key in the ignition to open all the windows and sunroof and sat in the driver's seat with my glass of wine listening to the radio while he crawled all over.

Noticed a cop drive by and the wife came over to me and said they could have charged me since I was sitting in the car with the key turned in the ignition.

My 2yo was also climbing over the seats in nothing but a diaper so would I have also been charged with child endangerment for not having him buckled in his seat as well?

Don't think so as long as you had either Pandora with ads or Spotify with ads playing.

Technically yes but the cop would have to be a massive douche...so it's very possible

While we're on the subject....What if I have the radio in my truck turned on while I'm washing it? (Not actually in the vehicle)

What if I have the radio turned on and I'm just sitting on the back tailgate, drinking cold ones, with my country girl? (I learned all that stuff listening to the new country music )

Ahh yes the old "cop can suck it" defense.

You should try that out some time, let us know how it works out for you.

A buddy of mine fell asleep in his car while parked on his driveway and got a DUI.

If you were on public property then private. Yes.

If you never left your private property. Do whatever.

If you start an old car in your driveway, can you get a ticket for no insuance/inspection/registration?
