To defend the NYT and criticize Trump's atty on that tweet is beyond ignorant. There were only 2 people in the room. One was obviously talking. Trump threatened him with tapes. Well before the article on the 16th

That May 11 article makes no mention of the memo.
That article was what Trump responded to.
Then Comey called his bluff with releasing the memo.

I'm still not seeing your point. Comey didn't just write memos, he also spoke about his conversations with several other people at DoJ.

I think you all are confusing Comey speaking about the meeting and leaking the memo.
These are 2 separate events.
It seems Trump's lawyer is also conflating the 2 events.

I will agree, that I can't find any mention of the Comey memo prior to May 16th and Trump did tweet on May 12th, however, we do not know when Comey leaked his memos.
