I thought Texas fans would want Shaka fired

You can argue today its the best job in the big ten.
History + deep pockets + facilities + recruiting base + low expectations

It's the perfect job because you get the mega-resources without the insane pressure due to football emphasis. I'd love to know if Archie Miller would rather be at OSU or Indiana.

Most believe he would have picked osu, that was his dream job. If osu lands billy donovan then theyll be ok but if they setttle for an xavier or butler coach most fans will be disgruntled knowing we should have had miller. We will see. I know theyll probably call sean miller too

Billy Donovan is the likely choice. He is not going to win an NBA Championship at Oklahoma City since KD left. He is a college coach by heart and good friends with Urban.
Brad Stevens has a good thing going at Boston, the only way he would come to Ohio State is if he wanted back in college at a big program.
This would make me very happy!

Greg McDermott of Creighton offered job. Like I said. It's not that big of a job. They were not going to get a big name coach to go there. Especially where football is King.

Without his son, Greg McDermott is 207-175 (90-118) with four NCAAT appearances in 12 years (0-4).
In McDermott's defense of this past season, Creighton looked legit until Maurice Watson went down with a season-ending injury.

I have a feeling they are going to hire Bobby Huggins. He's an Ohio native and this would be his dream job. His camp has been open about his interest in the job and closing the "border" around Ohio which has plagued Ohio St the last 3-4 years with major talent leaving the state...he also suggests his intent, if hired, to have a plan to find his own successor. I wouldn't mind hiring Huggins for 5-7 years with a plan to have a successor when he is ready to retire.

He's not from Ohio. He's from Morgantown and is a WVU grad. He has spent a lot of his coaching career in Ohio though.
I think he would kill it at OSU. It seems like the in state talent isn't quite as good as it was in Matta's heyday (Daequan Cook, David Lighty, Jon Diebler were all amazing high school players) but Huggins would dominate recruiting in the state.

Whose better with getting players to graduate cal or Huggins ?

To be fair, Bob Huggins did play HS basketball in Ohio and started college at Ohio University. Point remains that he is a WVU graduate, though.
I do have doubt that Huggins has interest in the position. You would think an offer would have gone out well-before Greg McDermott.

Ohio's 2017 class did not have much depth, but there was a wealth of high-end talent in the two years prior.

Every time a lower tier coach says no to the job, the OSU posters find an even more ridiculous name to say he's coming next
"Hoiberg says no.....CLEARY Donnavan is coming!"
"McDermott says no..... COME ON DOWN BOB HUGGINS"
Like what
