A drink that is served freezing cold in the summer is usually a good bet.

Why is this the default accusation against anything that trends?

Thhis.

It's like anytime something, be it drink, food, or fashion, is not what the standard good ole boy does it gets labeled as hipster.
In the modern world, craft beer has been a big thing for going on ten plus years now, but all of a sudden you see a once a week label as anyone who drinks craft beers as being a hipster.
It's an over used term, especially on this site.

Ok, I'll reword: I'm guessing the hipsters made it go more mainstream

Then I'll have to agree with notiger in that the term "hipster" is being used around here to refer to any social group that doesn't fit in with the good ole boy crowd.

It's an anecdote of course, but in my view, the Moscow Mule first became popular among the Wall Street/Hamptons crowd around here, and then starting making its way around other social groups.

haha. I'm mostly being facetious. The people who introduced me weren't really hipsters, apart from living in Denver. They didn't have beards, they bitched about liberals, and there was mention of doing blow in the bathroom.

It's refreshing like a mojito, but I don't feel as gay when I order one.

What about a mojito would make you feel gay?

Some of you seem to have some real insecurities.

Been drinking these for years now during the summer months. Not sure why as of late you see the push but for a while you could not find a bar with the ginger beer, much less the copper mug. IMO, the mug does make a difference in the temp.

The Kentucky mule.

I prefer this variation as well.

Reminds me of the number of names I get called for ordering a Manhattan up. Just because it's in a cocktail/martini glass doesn't mean it won't knock you on your arse.

I'd be down for a bourbon version, not a vodka fan.

What is a decent price for a good Mule Cup and a Julep cup as well? I want something that is good quality without breaking the bank.
