I'm thinking of someone else then. They were down two starters in that series

and the Cardinals have been matching them

Oh well nobody else in the div is doing much either so maybe the Cards can spring back to life. At least they will be done with the hard stretch shortly.

The rotation being so good last year was a fluke.

Is this the daily Cubs thread?

I hope Cole's daddy will write another poem when the Astros lose.

dont think so. But 4 guys went over 200 IP. I think that is the larger part of the regression.

Lackey is 38 and has 4 straight 200 IP seasons

Arrieta's coming off his 2 highest IP total seasons by a large margin, and we saw him break down some & lose velo.

Hendricks hit a career total in IP last year as a professional 214 IPs

I know
and Ive said it before I generally respect your sports opinions.( you know more than most on here)
But you do have an anti-Houston bias and we're all just dicking around

Great, baseball is still great to watch. Cubs didn't win a world series for over 100 years and baseball was still great.

it really sucks, there's nothing behind Lester/Hendricks and Schwarber is a no show who's not even walking anymore. Can't even catch up to a fast ball.

Bullpen is good but with no leads ever what's the point

We'll see if they can turn it around and the division is garbage so that's good too.

Dodgers are looking good in the NL IMO. Cubs (rotation), Nats (pen), Rockies (young unproven rotation) have major issues come October.

DBacks are interesting.

their pitching last year was other worldly. now it leaves a lot to be desired

russell and rizzo aren't progressing like they should

does the Dodgers recent success depend on Bellinger and Alex frickin' Wood continuing their dominance?

on a smaller note, McCarthy staying healthy & Chris Taylor playing like Mookie Betts?

i mean they have a lot of things going for them right now that more than likely wont last at this level

the nats remind me of the 90's mariners

one really good pitcher (johnson)
one extremely good bat (griffey)
1-2 really good bats (edgar martinez, a rod)

not shite else

Yeah but who in the NL has it all put together? Nats are maybe the closest but their BP is a dumpster fire. Glover looks good lately though.
