I have to say. Now that I'm older- Walt Disney World is hard to beat as far as bad ideas. It's hot. Crowded. Everything is expensive. My niece and nephew are enjoying it though so that's awesome. I suppose I'm just over the whole sweating your arse off and walk around for 8 hours.
What are you paying for? Your booze?
Tag along on Daddy's Dime vacation and you're bitching?

Been on at least 100 vacations and the only bad one. Crammed four families into one condo and it was a pain in the arse all week and then a big argument broke out with brother in law and parents on the last day.

Parents treated us to a trip to Kentucky and Tn - I plugged up 3 toilets in 5 different hotels. My dad asked me to start wasting more fiber.
I was about 16

A trip with the ex and her family to Branson.

When I was 10 we took a vacation to Omaha. This has never been sufficiently explained. Zoo was pretty decent.

my one and ONLY vacation that wasn't going in state to Dallas for a Rangers game or SA for Six Flags/Schlitterbahn was when my parents said "hey let's go tour the shitty part of the southwest. we'll look at native american stuff and ride trains.
So think of the best of the Southwest... Phoenix, Riodoso, Colorado Mountains, Santa Fe, Flagstaff, Sedona, White Sands, Vegas, or Carslbad Caverns?
Eff that we're going to the national Native American Museum, Roswell, Albuquerque, Mesa Cliff Dwellings, 4 corners, and a train ride in Pueblo, Colorado.

Orlando in mid July. My best bud and I, along with our wives, went to Universal Theme Park. It was miserably hot and my buddy's wife bitched enough about the heat he paid $20 for a little fan that misted water into the fins while they turned to keep her hydrated while we waited in lines for the rides. Then she bitched more because the water from the fan made her makeup run.
Last night there, his wife goes off on a tangent about him having a one night stand with some chic the same weekend or night she and he met. I calmly tried to get her to chill out and she turns her venom towards me, alleging that I've screwed around with the woman who cuts my hair. This part was true. The beautician, who was married, several years older than me, and quite attractive, is a cousin to my buddy. Once upon a time, she and I had an encounter. I had shared this info with my buddy and he, for unknown reasons, shared it with his wife. Now, she is sharing it with MY wife. Although the encounter with the beautician occurred before I was married, that didn't seem to matter to my wife because I was still getting my hair cut at the same salon.
On the flight home the next day, no one was speaking to anyone else. It was a long time afterwards before we ever socialized again as couples. Worst vacation experience EVER by far!

Jamaica, almost 2 years ago.
We had some good times, but it was tough. The locals harass the living shite out of you trying to sell you anything. I mean, you get it a lot in Mexico but they leave when you tell them no. In Jamaica, one person approaches you and as you're telling them no, 5 more come up and none of them will take no for an answer.
When I'm on vacation, I love to get out and explore. Get off the beaten path and away from the tourist areas. Go find a local dive to get some food and a drink. That just wasn't possible in Jamaica.
I ended up hiring a cab driver for a day to bring us around and fight off the locals. That was the only really good day we had there. I have no desire to ever return.

When I was a kid in the early 90s, my family went on a cross-country road trip from Atlanta to the Grand Canyon in an Aerostar minivan.
This was back before smartphones and Nintendo DS, for any of you youngins. The only entertainment kids had for road trips back then were books and your own imagination.
This was also back before CDs and iPods. Just cassette tapes. And the only two cassettes my family had for this weeklong road trip were the soundtracks for Top Gun and Phantom of the Opera.
We listened to each probably a dozen times.

Senior trip...
- they booked a camp ground to save money
- they brought tents
- I ended up getting left at a party
- people fought
- not enough alcohol
- lost my shoes on the beach
- lost my keys
- lost my sunglasses
- came home early

Group golf trip 2 years ago to the Hollywood Casino in Bay St.Louis. (we were going play the Oaks for a couple days).
about 1 hour into our trip, where we have about 30 guys on the casino floor, they cut us all off and started cutting people off from gambling. Fought with the workers, management, etc.
Sad part in all of this is we weren't even rowdy (yet). They were just not used to a group of that many people having fun i suppose.
Never going back there.
Went to Biloxi this year and it was a blast, always is.

Vegas golf trip in March with 50 guys. Played 4 beautiful courses with the best weather. Won a bunch of money on the course and then killed it on the craps table. Enjoyed some great establishments and drank my arse off. Also, didn't have the better half around to critique my actions.
Wait, it wasn't that bad after all.
