Chris Brown. He played for Tennessee. I believe he actually scored a TD on LSU in the 2007 SEC Championship game. I thought about mentioning Corey Hilliard. He was a senior when I was in 8th grade. He is actually the one who made it to the NFL, even if it was mostly as a back up.
I feel like with how dominant some of our baseball, soccer, swimming, wrestling, and even some of the other sports that competed at a high level in the state were that some of them had to have some athletes that went on to do well in college and maybe even more. I just don't follow all those sports very much, so I wouldn't know.

He did score against LSU. Too bad Tennessee lost that game.

A guy I graduated with in 1977 named Bobbie Braggs. Was 6'2" 200 and ran a 9.9 100 yard dash as a h.s. senior. Was 3A all state in baseball and basketball. Running QB and, by far, the best player on the football team. Had tryouts with both the Yankees and the Astros after high school. Was a natural athlete that never really lifted or took any vitamins.
Never made it to college. Was working on the garbage truck when I was in college. He, and a younger brother, went to prison in the late 80's or early 90's for being part of a mob run business that was stealing loaded semis and driving them to New Jersey. Noticed he was arrested last year for selling crack.

2007. I just double checked to make sure that I had my years right. I was a freshman when Markey and Brown were seniors, and I'm pretty sure Hilliard was the year ahead of them.

James Wright and Jeremy Vujnovich are both in the NFL and Nick Thurman is in the minor leagues.
They all played when I was in school.
Chris Henry is also an alumnus.

In my 4 years of HS...
Warrick Dunn
David Delluci
Kurt Ainsworth
Scott Ray
Kevin Franklin
Jesse Daigle
Leo Abel
Had a lot of other guys I played with who didn't seem that notable at the time but went on to play D1 ball. these were the "big" names.
