My bad- I transferred from NOLA. Dj got there the year after I left. Both really really good guys.

I don't believe Waskom HS ever turned out any professional athletes.

I know a few people who should have went pro, went to minors, or was picked up by pro teams and their parents begged them to go to college and never were picked up again.(mostly baseball) but probably just because he went big time would be Reid Brignac.

other than me, too many to mention, lived in a hotbed of great athletes, we thought that was how it was everywhere, within a one mile radius of my house, just in my "era," there were 4 NFL qbs, one in the NFL HoF, one guy, a white guy
, in the college basketball HoF, six D1 baseball players, a couple of those had brief pro careers, scale out a mile or two and you could have fielded a couple of pretty good college or semi-pro teams in several sports

The best athletes at my school never stepped foot on the field, hardwood or diamond. For some reason they decided that thug life was best for them. It's a shame thinking back at what could have been for a few of them.

knew a few of those too, in some cases in wasn't the pursuit of thug life though, it was a case of the need to help with the family income, the best athlete I ever saw in my area stopped playing sports as soon as he was old enough to get a job, the best natural athlete I've ever seen

Yeah unfortunately thats true for many places. My husband and his friends would go play some pick up games in multiple locations, and said he would play against some people that would put alot of NBA players to shame.
