It's been 10 plus years since we've fished offshore. Back then we had made several trips with Gotcha Charters with mixed results with catch and service. Who do y'all recommend? don't care about any specific species. No one in our group is a hardcore fisherman but we aren't green either. We are a pretty laid back group so I'd like to avoid the run and gun style of captain as well.

This dude out of Fourchon. I assume he is still running.

Steve isn't running anymore but there is a guy named Ed Pitre running charters. Southern Pride charters I think is the name.

ETA: only good for bigger groups. Would cost way too much for a few people to go offshore

Fixed your link

Steve Tomney

Another poster said he no longer does this but his site seems to indicate otherwise, however the interweb can be tricky that way,

Are you looking for a specific types of charters. Like inshore/bay type fishing vs deeper water charters for tuna or snapper?

Can't recommend from personal experience, I've chartered out of cocodrie for inshore fishing only. But here are some other links to check out.

ETA: in case you decide an inshore trip out of cocodrie/chauvinism an option, I highly recommend https://www.cocodriechartersla.com/

We used to go every year out of fourchon rig fishing Lots have changed in the last ten years since you have been. You can catch TWO red snapper IF season is open. And amberjack and triggerfish have ridiculous seasons as well. Rheu don't all run concurrent either. It's plumb retarded

cory Talbot from reel addiction. I've fished with Daryl carpenter too but it was a while ago and I don't know if he's doing that much chartering anymore. Can't go wrong with either. Both good dudes

Fish Commander Lance and the other captains are laid back and I've always caught fish with them. Been with them many times (I have a trip scheduled in June)They also have camps for rent if you are looking for that.

What's wrong with Ed Frekey? The guy is a good fisherman that works hard to catch and a standup guy.
