There's an old Cold War joke about a CIA guy trying to hide a diminutive local defector in Prague. He went to the embassy and asked, "Can you cache a small Czech?"

You are trying too hard, who the check is from can play a factor especially if they don't use the bank you are using.

If you go in with a $10k check they are not going to just look at the check, turn around and count out $10,000 in cash for you. They have to make sure that account has $10k in it first. If they give you cash right then and there, then find out the account on the check you give them doesn't have $10k to cover the check then they lose money.. Dumbass..

Why do you care if people on the internet think your username has money.

You obviously don't have the money. If you did the bank would cash it, and take it out of your account if it bounces.

If it is the paperwork for the IRS, it isn't the banks fault. They have to follow the rules of the government.

Even if the bank did tell you no. If you have the cash why not deposit it and withdraw from your account.

I'll take a page from your playbook....y u so dumb 4

If it's close (suspicion will be raised) or over 10k you have to file IRS paperwork.

It is NOT IRS paperwork. A lot of people believe this and I get this all the time. It's required by FinCEN...Financial Crimes Enforcement ACT. A CTR (Currency Transaction Report) is meant to prevent money laundering. A 1099-int is what the bank reports to the IRS.

You are so full of shite. If you actually dealt with large sums of money and checks you would already know why banks do not accommodate requests like this.

You are the biggest poser/pretender this forum has seen in a while and that's saying a lot.

Yeah I actually won the scratch off prize on a butterball turkey back in 2007

They sent me one of those big checks that said "free turkeys for life" on it. I tried to bring it to the bank but they wouldn't take it

You should open an account at the bank for the mentally handicap. I find banking is always easier when I can establish a personal relationship with my bankers.
