I'm usually open to adding new people to play with but this guy I work with keeps complaining about not having anyone to play with. He keeps trying to guilt trip me into adding him, but it's obvious why no one will play with him: he rages at work, I can't imagine him online.

How do I blow him off??

I usually say I don't play often or my kid plays on my account more than I do. It usually gets dropped after that.

heck no.

back in the day when i worked at a large corporate telecom company, i had a coworker i'd play NCAA football with start randomly talking about one of our online games at a table full of female coworkers. deal breaker.

I would not add anyone from work. Well, I take that back. It depends on what you do, and how the coworker acts. I had a bunch of Marine buddies that I played with online, but I doubt I would want to add my IT coworkers now

i dont add anyone form my company on social media and i wouldnt ever game with any of them. My partner is lucky to have my personal cell instead of just my work cell. Recipe for drama you don't need.

lol my girlfriend tries to hide that I do as much as I do from every person she knows. She's fine telling them I played football in college and shite before I shredded my knee, but if I start talking w/ one of her friend's boyfriends about gaming or if I bring up something regarding anime I just all of a sudden feel a glare from hell from her

Over half the people that I work with games or has a spouse that games. They know I don't do MP and so they never ask.

I've had a telecommute job for years, so I have never told a single coworker. I don't want there to be a perception that I am gaming all day during work hours (I don't).

In your situation no chance. In other situations yeah it just depends. Most people I work with I don't want to see outside of work and I'd imagine that's the case for most. I've had coworkers ask if I want to do something and I tell them no because I believe in separation of work and life.

Now if it's someone who is chill and able to vibe with my life outside work then sure why not

I don't understand this. It's a hobby that more than half of people our age do. What gives.

I understand not wanting people to know how much time or whatever you put into it, but to know that you play games at all?

For me, I'll add just about anybody. Don't really care who knows what I play or what games I own.

Good excuse, but he overheard me talking to another coworker about it.

A good bit of the people that I game with regularly are co-workers. Helps that we are all really good friends and have been working together and hanging out for 10 years plus.

I only have one co-worker on my friends list, because no one else games. He has turned me on to some pretty good games that I normally wouldn't have played.
