So I set the alarm, woke up early and binge watched the news shows.

CBS This Morning. Today. Good Morning America. Morning Joe. CNN. Fox and Friends.
Just bouncing back and forth.
Three things stuck out.
1. A lot of the same guest are on different shows at different times. I must be a totally dummy but I never had really noticed that the guy on CBS at 730 was the featured guest on ABC at 800. And they say the exact same things!
2. Ben Sasse left a very good impression. Very good conservative, far more conservative than me, me but I would vote for him for President. Please Republicans arrange for him to primary Trump in 2018.
3. The shows really are similar. Morning Joes has his political know-it-all bias, CBS tries to be politics-fer-chicks. Today is too soft for me.
But the main thing.
4. This is the truth. Everytime I turned on Fox all the were talking about was liberal-media-sucks, liberal-media-sucks. Scrolls at the bottom of the screen "Is the Liberal Media trying to Destroy Donald Trump". "Liberal Media covers up truth about Comey". Etc. Hey look, we can all have different ideas. And I am not in favor of any fairness doctrine. I am simply analyzing what I saw. All the other networks were talking about the issues of the day, Fox seemed to avoid them and just attack the liberal media. Trust me, I turned them on a half dozen times. Now could it just have happened that I got "unlucky" those six times, in theory I suppose. But I kinda doubt it.
If I were running a conservative news network I would be lifting up conservativism not dragging down liberalism. But that is just me I suppose.

if you keep watching during the day, each show also repeats essentially the same 5-6 stories, often with the same contributors. it's just the same mass of words over and over adn over again

I know he's not popular on this board, but Sasse was extremely impressive this morning. If I posted a transcript of some of his answers about how awful our politics has become and didn't put a name on it, this board would 100% agree with it.

Turn to Fox business. It's Fox for adults.

If they think the other networks are reporting unreliable news then why do you expect FOX to report that same news?

I am a HUGE Ben Sasse fan.
I'm far from a Conservative, and yet still really like Sasse. He's a new haircut away from being a serious contender for President.

That's the biggest legitimate story chief.

On one hand we have anonymous sources feeding the WaPo. On the other hand, we have all the people in the room coming out on the record and saying "Fake news, it simply never happened."
I think Fox has a point here. Are you going to imply that all 3 of the people in the room are lying? Are they all in on a conspiracy?

Ben Sasse is currently massaging the egos of the DC beltway cocktail class while fricking over his constituents that voted for him in Nebraska. He's a good Republican in the mold of John McCain and Lindsey Graham. In 2019 he will abandon the DC Beltway rhetoric in favor of more Tea Party rhetoric to get reelected in 2020.
Rinse and repeat.
Rinse and repeat.

Well, the liberal media does indeed suck baw.

If you understood politics, you would know that is entirely false.
Sasse falls more in line with the Mike Lee and Rand Paul types. His voting record is actually better than Pauls from a conservative standpoint and almost identical to Mike Lee's.

4 if you include Trump.
And 6 if you include the two Russian dignitaries.

I saw Sasse on Face the Nation Sunday and said out loud after about 5 min of him talking "This guy seems really reasonable".
That being said, we all know how a person can change when the rubber hits the road and they actually start campaigning. I liked the guy as he is now though.

I have my problems with FOX, too, but they are right about the liberal media wanting to destroy Trump.
My question is, since you media-binged this morning, how did you miss that?
