Far Cry 5’s release date could be in September of this year and will be set in the Wild West if reports are to be believed. As per WCCFTech, there’s evidence aplenty to prove this. A live action trailer for was shot in northeastern Montana, helmed by Jeff Guillot, the producer who was also responsible for Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal live action trailer.

It was initially thought to be Red Dead Redemption 2 but according to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier it will be Far Cry 5. In the past Kotaku correctly stated that Assassin's Creed would miss its yearly release and No Man's Sky's delay. This should fall in line with a survey sent by Ubisoft to gauge interest in a future Far Cry. One of the options at the time was a Spaghetti Western set in late 19th century America.

Unlike many on here I like the Far Cry format for games like that, I thought Primal was great.

Same here. I get that leaves, fur, and money searches can be repetitive but I enjoy the various missions and weapons options. I spent a ton of time roaming around before I even got to the campaign missions.

I have not played Primal yet. I'm curious about the Western theme. I can't imagaine Far Cry with out my Sniper Rifle lol.

cant wait to climb windmills to unlock pieces of a shitty map and collect tumbleweeds to make pouches and play a shitty story with horrible characters.

Scruffy cannot wait to climb old rickety windmills in order to open up areas.

I was playing Horizon earlier and enjoying the hell out of it, just with the side quests. Thought of you.

Hope you find something that makes you happy someday.

if you think that shite is entertaining, just wait till you get into the main story. They actually spent time writing and developing a plot there.

Not sure what kind of Shakespeare you're looking for in side missions, but to each his own.

Sure, there are some basic fetch quests, but the one I'm actually in the middle of now, in Meridian, the guy who had his sword stolen. Not just a find the sword and kill whoever did it. Some really surprising layers to it.

Anyways, I'm with doruden, I still get into the Far Cry formula. Never tried Primal simply because I'm not really intrigued by that setting. A western FC could be fun.

a good sidequest doesnt need some grand story; it needs to make the player feel like what they're doing matters. tracking footsteps in detective mode for fetch quests to aid one-off NPCs that are shittily voice acted just doesn't do it for me. I need substance.

I already can't remember a single sidequest from the game, and I 100%'d it just a few weeks ago. just vague bits like "find why the birds are attacking" and shite. the main story is something I will never forget. it's clear that all of their writers were busy with that.

This was actually an important side quest.

As repetitive as the Far Cry formula is, I like it.

It's not a spaghetti western if it's not in Italy

Make sure you go find the ladys brother and counsel him through a mental crisis by pressing x over and over

Eta: the main story line was fun as hell for the 3 hours it took me to beat it

If that's one of the first ones, that one admittedly sucked, and I think they said it was one that got past them as far as polishing up the voice work. And it was dumb.
