Hang ziplock bags of water. Don't know why but it works.

the last boil i had 2 weeks ago... no flies when i started. While the crawfish were soaking, about 30 appeared out of the blue.

Get the yard spray for flies that you spray before an event. You spray the perimeter. It works pretty well. Also, they hate a certain product, I think is like a citrus...buy those candles and burn em on each table. Combined, I've been very happy, and I have a creek in my back us...So I feel your pain.

I've seen these set up from time to time. Once hanging over a walk up and order window at a BBQ joint. Flies were literally crawling around on the bag. I'm slightly skeptical.

And yes, they had a penny or two in each water bag.
