I realize the Beth has a history of recruiting well.
What is her recruiting strategy.
She recruits extremely talented kids with good heads on their shoulders. She does recruit Louisiana but she also does an amazing job recruiting nationally. She recruits Texas and Cali pretty hard.

It looks like Beth makes up her mind and does not adjust much.
Not really all season we constantly saw new lineups, new orders most of the year.

Softball Recruiting Update by Jennlsu
What happened with Taylor Edwards?
Haven't heard anything in a while, but last I heard she'd fallen off big time. Ball flattened out and was getting rocked consistently. Lot of rumors she doesn't like playing much and wasn't putting in the effort.... this comes from people connected to her travel team fwiw

Thanks. I was looking at her twitter last night and there are posts about "getting back in it...getting her speed back," etc. I'm wondering if she was injured?

Morgan Smith 2020 Commit
Plays for OC Batbusters-Campbell
She will be considered a top ten prospect when the new recruiting rankings are update again.
This year she batted .496 with 14 homeruns 11 doubles 4 triples
ERA of .64 with 256 Ks and 23 walks
This is a recruit that I truly think can completely carry a program herself, she is just incredible and is only a true freshman now.
Excited to see her play this summer

Could be Shelby Wickersham, elite pitcher and MVP this year at state champ, Mt. Carmel. Also a darn good position player that can hit.

Don't you think that Sanchez will play 3rd next season? will she move to 2nd?
Personally Doyle should be at 3B now, 3B isn't Sanchez natural position. Sanchez could stay there and Dawson moves into 2B. Doyle and Springfield would split 1B and Dh.
Or she could be moved to 2B, move Doyle to 3B, Springfield to 1B. Let Dawson Dh?
Literally no clue but part of me thinks since they stuck with Sanchez at 3B all year they will keep her there next season.

How about Doyle at 3rd, Springfield at 1st, Sanchez or Dawson at 2nd and either Dawson, Thornhill, or Weinberger at RF? Who's gonna catch?
Posted on 5/31/17 at 11:13 pm to Jennlsu
Well I expect true freshman Antoine to step in and play in RF. She is very similar to Landry, she drives the ball a lot like her but does have homerun power.
I do know for a fact Sprinfield and Doyle will be in the lineup for sure. I am not sure who will play 2B, could be Dawson.
Also don't sleep on Sunseri, she has a lot of power and pop in her bat. She could definitely hit .300 with 5-10 homeruns next year. Beth has raved about Sunseri's bat, I just have no clue how you fit everyone in.
I think the best defensive lineup is with Doyle at 3B, Springfield at 1B. Its not even a question. Now, this is where its a bit controversial is who plays 2B. I really was fully expecting Dawson to play their immediately next year but I am not sure if sanchez is inserted there due to experience or something. Then you still have DP which I really want to think Sunseri will see a lot of opportunities due to her power and offense.
As far as Catcher, I really think without question Cunningham would be the best catcher for us, but I still am not sure if we are adding a transfer. Cunningham was really polished defensively coming out hs and could hit extremely well whenever I saw her. She was a top 30 player according to multiple recruiting experts. She was recruited by a lot of Big Ten Schools, SEC school, as well as some PAC 12 ones as well. I really thought she would have been utilized much more this season but it didn't pan out. Probably will be open competition, I expect Caccamise to see a lot of looks as well. They do need to excellent defensively, defense is extremely important in that position.

This is my opinion also.
Doyle at 3rd
Springfield at 1st
Dawson at 2nd
Cunningham at Catcher.
Not sure why that is not the current infield with the exception of Jaquish at Catcher
The current infield is too weak defensively imo.

A transfer catcher? I was hoping we would have someone that could immediately come in and fill that role. Not have to sit out a year.
Posted on 6/4/17 at 10:33 pm to Jennlsu
Are the rules the same for transfers with college softball?
I need to double check that

Someone had posted our list of commits for 2017, 18, 19, etc. I can't find it. Does someone have this list?
Posted on 6/4/17 at 11:44 pm to Jennlsu
I can post the full list tomorrow. I'm about to go to bed!

Watched her video. I say she does not need any changes with her swing. If they try to change her they will screw her up. She has her hands inside the ball and no wasted motion to the ball. You can notice a difference between her and Springfield for example.

Brown had really fast hands, she is a true power hitter.
Her swing has good mechanics as well.
OU, Arizona, A&M and Florida all were recruiting her as well. After a unofficial in the fall, she fell in love with the staff, the facilities and the girls and committed to us
