A few updates on some of our verbals:

Morgan Cummins plays for one of the top HS teams in the country Lakewood Ranch HS. She is a catcher for the 2018 class. She has been on a tear this back half of this season. In post season play she already has 5 homeruns, 6 doubles alone. For the year she has 12 homeruns and 14 doubles and one triple. She plays along some really talented kids so its been able to open stuff up for her. Really powerful player, she will do some great things for LSU.

Sahvanna Stewart is out of Georiga. They play their softball games in the fall but she had a really good year. Very explosive year for her team, she batted a little over .500 but she had a lot of extra base hits. There aren't offical stats released but she had around 11 doubles, 3 tipples and 3 homeruns with a little over 30 RBIs. She will be back in action this summer with her travel ball team so I expect to see her have a really good summer. She has blossomed really well the last two years. She can bunt, slap, power slap, and swing away. She is versatile player who has really developed a lot.

2019 Commit Ciarra Brigs is a top 20 recruit out of california. She is trying out for the US Junior National Team. Big time player I expect to immediately be an impact player for us. She has been pretty dominant against elite talent over in her area. She batted a little over .400 this year with 14 doubles 5 tipples and 3 homeruns.

Raeleen Gutierrer is another 2019 commit that has had an amazing year. She is really a gem on defense, considered one of the best defensive infielders in the entire country. Very versatile offensively she hits to every part of the field. She batted a over .450 with 10 doubles 6 triples and 6 home runs.

Hayden Brown class of 2020. She has had a really good year. Beth spotted a really good one. Extremely powerful with a big arm. She has 10 homeruns this year but should be way more, a lot of teams completely pitch around her. She doesn't have the best talent on her squad but look for her to put up good numbers when she plays travel ball. She hit over .500 this year but her homeruns are HUGE. Someone sent me a link she posted of one of her home runs
Homerun Video

Presleigh Pilon is a 2020 commit, top 25 player is having a HUGE year. Batting around .540 with 9 doubles, not sure how many triples but around 8 homers as well. She chose LSU over Florida, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Oregon. She is more a gap hitter but homerun numbers should get bigger though.

Appreciate the update. Do you know what area or school in California Brigs plays?

What's the word on that 2019 pitcher we have committed that was so talented? Didn't someone say she quit softball? I think her name was Erica

We really need immediate depth in the middle infield and behind the plate. The class of 2017 doesn't offer much in those spots so it's good to see we have some help in 2018.

As usual, Beth and this staff are amazing recruiters and will continue to bring top tier talent that will rival anyone.

Torina has a lot of talent coming in from California over the next 4 years. I think she is really good friends with a lot of the hs coaches over there. California has treated LSU really well and there is no doubt that they produce some of the best softball players in the world.

Also, I know this is random but its shame LSU couldn't hold onto Aaliyah gibson. I saw an article on her the other day. She is an OF from Austin TX who is now a junior at Nevada but she has been incredible the last two years. She batted over .400 last year and is hitting for over .350 this year. She leads the nation in triples too. If she would have made it to LSU she would likely been a lead off for this program the last two years. Its shame she couldn't keep her grades up, Torina had to pull her offer.

What?

Cummins hs team play off journey ended this week with a 1-0 loss in the title.

Also for those who are worried about 3B next year. Cristiona Caccamise has played 3B a lot in her career as well.

Hey, 357, Beth should have a lot to sell her future recruits on the success and going to the WCWS every year, don't you think?

Any smoke signals on recruiting lately?

I know its not reasonable, but it would sure be nice to see as many as 6 or 7 lineup players be a threat to hit a ball out of the park. And be a great defensive player as well.

I have kept up with LSU softball for several years but I am definitely not a softball expert at all.

I realize the Beth has a history of recruiting well.

What is her recruiting strategy.

It appears to me that defense is undervalued on some of her teams.

There have been too many infield errors this year from some players that probably should not be starters.

It looks like Beth makes up her mind and does not adjust much.

Sorry
I know this is long.
Just trying to learn more.

357 and others definitely know more than I do.

Go Tiger's
