I coach a 6th grade baseball team and they want to forfeit 1-2 game

Because of final exams...
The first game is actually the Saturday BEFORE finals and the other one is on Wednesday during their finals week. And when I say they want to forfeit I mean their parents
Am I wrong to think that's a little silly? They're in 6th grade how much studying are they really doing?
It's a very good private school but still, they're 6th graders!

Call off the Wednesday game. Seems like a good compromise. Maybe the league will let you make it up.

Cancel Wednesday, play the Saturday game. Regardless if there's a game on Saturday or not, a kid is not going to be studying for a damn middle school final on a Saturday.

Are ALL of the parents asking for this or just a few of the loudest ones? Might be a good chance for some of the kids to play who dont normally get to.

Just let each individual family/kid choose to play or not to play. If you get nine your good. Like someone else said some kids that don't get to play as much will get more opportunity those games. If I was a kid the opportunity to play the entire game without having to come out would sell me.

Yes, you are wrong. School obviously is a much higher priority than some fricking 6th grade baseball game. Are you serious with this bull shite, or are you trolling? Really the games should have never been scheduled when there was a conflict like this in the first place.

back in the day, we couldn't schedule Wednesday practices or games, cause it was a church night.

It's not like a 2 hr baseball game will seriously affect their grades. Play both games. Screw the parents.
