Healthcare is a COMMODITY!

Protecting my body and my property from others. Except the government of course

Yes, but even that can be misinterpreted to give more freebies away. I mean can you REALLY pursue happiness if you are hungry and homeless? Of course you can not.

If there is a state out there that wants to go first and be the proof of concept, by all means...
There is no reason the entire nation has to jump into this feet first at once.

Oh you're still pursuing it. You're just failing at it.
Not my problem.

What do you think a "human right" is?
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
That is the ultimate human right.

The 2A is a human right but notice that doesn't mean guns are free. Even if healthcare is a right, which it isn't, that doesn't mean it's free.

healthcare being life.
Nonsense.
You are still alive even when you are ill.

For the sake of argument, I will say that no you are not pursuing it. And quite frankly you are an idiot if you argue that a person who is homeless and hungry has any chance of pursuing happiness.

Not my problem.
Actually, it IS your problem , because obviously we can't get rid of all of people's problems, but the fewer problems people have, the better off society as a whole is.
The problem is, liberals - and by the extension the government - simply don't differentiate between those who seriously need and would appreciate help and those who just want to leach off the system and frankly yes we do have some boneheaded conservatives who don't believe the taxpayers should be offering any help to anyone, so we're stuck in the rut of spending hundreds of millions of dollars and not really helping people.

Being a right is irrelevant. What is relevant is whether we want to provide for the general welfare of our citizens or not by offering health care for those who are not able to procure it on their own. Is it ok to spend billions on blowing up others across the globe while allowing a minority of our citizens to fall into bad health due to their inability to pay?

Nonsense.
Someone who is hungry and homeless can still pursue happiness.
I know I still pursued happiness when I was hungry and homeless.

That is a real fine question and am unsure if I have a clear cut answer. My gut tells me there is no inherent right.

It most certainly is relevant.

Your premise is incorrect. You do not understand the meaning of this phrase.
quote:
by offering health care for those who are not able to procure it on their own
Not a role of the national government. If states wish to do this, they are free to.
quote:

The first one we most certainly should not be doing, but it is at least within the realm of the purpose of national government. The second one is not the role of the national government.

I mean we already know that liberals don't care about rights, but how idiotic.
The federal government is clearly only supposed to have the powers enumerated to it in the COTUS, Meaning if Healthcare isn't a right, you don't have any reasonable expectation of receiving it from the government.
Oh also ,, we are talking about health INSURANCE , not health care. There is a difference.
In point of fact, healthcare itself has been a de facto right in this country for years. You show up to the ER with a medical problem, you are taken care of, regardless of ability to pay.
What we are now discussing is payment for said healthcare.

Stupid is obviously a "right" because there always seems to be plenty of it...
Government is not in the business of granting rights or at least it should not be... Government exists to PROTECT rights, not give as much free shite away as possible...
