They could like Allen but would they really trust an UDFA with no experience over Mangold?

Mangold could be a smart 1 year investment. Unger' foot injury could linger and Mangold might end up playing more than people think

Maybe not, but I do think they trust Kelemete to hold it down for a month.

I never understand why they always wait until the last minute to address injuries like this.

apparently this injury happened in game 14 of last year and only now do they finally do surgery to fix it? I get they always prefer to let things heal rather then rush to surgery but it just seems like they should have known before now (say around February or so) that it wasn't healing and that surgery was needed.

it seems far too often that most teams wait until they are ready for training camp to begin and then you hear about guys needing surgery and missing portions of the next season.

if they had just done surgery on unger at end of last season, he would be ready to go now, and not have to be missing nearly half the year

If you could rehab/rest an injury, 9/10 players will elect to attempt to rehab/rest it before going under the knife.

its easy in hindsight for us to say that because its not our bodies. Their concern is to win as well, but not at extreme costs and measures that leaves them ruined in 10 years.

It's not the team so much. Most players will avoid surgery if they can. And they'll wait until the last minute to do it.

Eff that! Senio or Jack Allen should fill in.

Its not even determined if Unger will even miss a game.

Senio has been decent for us, and he has played center in camp before.

I think it's a foregone conclusion that he will miss some time. I just hope at this point it isn't career ending

Very encouraged move for various reasons. Ingram would dominate touches in Philly. Let's make this happen, Eagles.Brad Evans added,

Maybe for Travis kelce.

Cutting Unger this year saves 2mil but let's gives us 5mil dead

Cutting him next year saves 4.5 but gives us 3.5mil in dead

I'd like it if we had another RB. We can't rely on AP and a rookie.

Kelce is a Pro Bowler and is younger, and under contract for awhile but what do you do if Unger comes back around week 6?

Do you run with Kelemete/Ingram/AP/Kamara OR

Kelce/AP/Kamara?

Kelce is terrible. He was literally one of the worst centers in the NFL last year and will likely eventually be cut.
