Not saying they're worth it even at that price(I don't think any basketball shoe is), but it's a legitimate marketing strategy.
except the market are mainly to people who:
1. ball in said shoes. Goodluck catching them in this bs for the same price as the major marketing stars.
2. sneakerheads who know the resale value is piss poor
there's always the exception, but the mass majority who invest or spend the $$ into this type of thing are like girls and brand name purses/wallets.

Their main problem is their "brand". It's a terrible name and a terrible logo. It's dead just because of that.

Yeah, and then parents buying for kids:
"Ok timmy, your shoe budget for this summer and fall is 500 bucks. You can get a pair of Jordans, Lebrons, AND Kyries right NOW.. or.. the ZO2s in december. "

Those might do well at Walmart for 20 bucks..

Would you rather 500 buy your $500 shoe or 20,000 buy your $100 shoe?

Im starting to wonder if this guy is doing one big inside joke and we are all the victims. Surely he doesn't believe in the shite he's selling, right?
Of course, I said the same thing this time last year about a certain person who is now running the country.

I always said he was the Donald Trump of b-ball dads. I have no doubt he took some of Trump's tricks and applied them to marketing Lonzo.

Its the dumbest idea in terms of investment. Ball is literally screwing his son so hard.
Major companies have the resources to get quality material, design, manufacturer, etc from top to bottom. Doing so, their cost per shoe is low so their profit margin is high. At a total value, it comes to 2mil. At a $80 profit per shoe for 20k is 1.6mil
BBB has to independently hire those things, designs, etc. Their materials are more than likely more expensive thus their profit margin is likely lower. At total value its 250k. a profit of even 250 per shoe is 125k.
Ben Simmons singed a 5yr/10mil deal or something for his FIRST shoe endorsement. BBB have to sell 20,000 shoes, not counting cost to reach that amount.
LeBron, KD, Curry etc make like 20mil+ a year on their shoe deals. Even a B-star like Dame Lillard makes 10mil/yr. If you think Lonzo's going to be even a "B-star" player, he's going to make that kind or close to that kind of money. if you think he's gonna flail, than MAYBE this route is better (still dont believe it). big markets monopolized, Ball is costing his son a fortune at this current moment and potentially the future.

Y'all realize tho that he has created the blueprint.
If if he does well, and is able to sell his shoes, it's like he owns his own masters. This is a shoe companies biggest fear -- this shifts the needle/power out of their hands. I love the entrepreneurialship and the "swamp draining" but I really don't like how they went about it and I don't like Lavar so I'm confused
The roll out was very good, the prices are trash but there is now a model to replicate/tweak
This is trumpian... YALL SHOULD LOVE IT HES DRAINING THE SWAMP.

Also I love how there are no refunds until right before the first game of the year --- they are getting their bread guaranteed
I'm
Rooting for this level and type of ownership and entrepreneurialship, its exciting and I like seeing more business minded blacks. It's good for America.

Seems like if he wanted to frick with the shoe companies, he'd be selling these for way cheaper. I imagine it's pretty expensive for them to produce these though, which is why they'll ultimately fail.
