Everyone knows him name for a reason.
And Ben got 20 guaranteed over 5 years.

Also since when is a startup company free to start? At some point Lavar/lonzo have put skin in the game to make BBB a thing. Even if someone else is footing the bill, there is still equity they owe that person eventually
If they go bust, then equity isn't going to be paid back. It'll be tied to the corporation. If he funded it himself, then I'm sure its fine because they aren't living poor.

It's not as easy as you act. If he's good, he'll be encouraged to stick with his own brand. If he's a bust, he's fricked.

#1 pick is only guaranteed like 12 mil
I understand that's a lot of money, but that can get drained real quick, especially while you're in the NBA and Lavar ball is your father
You can't just put your head in the sand over the oppurtunity cost of what he's doing

I'll never forget that time at chemotherapy when I saw Lonzo Ball's first shoe
My life changed forever

And people seem to be brushing aside the difficulties of running an international shoe company from design and production to distribution and sales.

If it's good enough for Stephon Marbury, it's good enough for ball right?

My bad on that. Was remembering the adidas offer before a bidding war started. I still think Lonzo will be fine.

It's a gamble, and not a smart one IMO.

If you call getting enough money to be set for life being fricked, then I suppose you're right. He's playing with house money. He's already rich.

Yeah, and Simmons can make up to $40MM in the first 5 years if he hits certain achievements. Absolutely no way Lonzo gets there, especially dragging around Lavar and his scrub middle brother.

Steph said he wanted to help them yesterday, obviously they didn't listen since their shoe price point is 33x more.

Considering 75% of NBA players declare bankruptcy within five years of leaving the game, I don't think he rich for life. Overwhelming odds say he'll be poor again.

If they came out two months before I bet a lot of the kids in the Fyre Fest photos would be wearing them

So $20 million guaranteed is just lagniappe? That's nearly double what he's guaranteed on his NBA contract.

Every business is a risk. You're just assuming they'll fail. They're assuming that they won't. It takes balls to open a business. You're only looking at the failure side. If they figure it out, then they could have the next Under Armor.

Funding a start-up basketball shoe company seems a good way to blow that rookie NBA money.

Then I guess the shoe money doesn't matter.

You don't think people will invest in a guy that can snap his fingers and be on every message board in the world as well as front page news on ESPN.

That doesn't equal sales.
