Now whether that was Mahomes or Watson, we may never know, but don't be surprised if we take a QB at 42 or in the 3rd round. His comments confirm the rumors that we've been looking hard at QBs.

Or, alternatively, he wants everyone to think that.

I'm sure he planned for wr, rb, olb, ilb, dt...Basically every position. Doesn't mean he was going to force something. Can you link that cause I don't remember the context being as you display it?

No he didn't. He said it was a realistic possibility. Never did he say they planned to.

Was there a realistic possibility that you would have considered a quarterback today?

“Yes. I think being true to the board and looking closely at how you have players graded. I think that when you have two picks, you have a little bit of flexibility. We feel like we have a number of needs and we felt like we got a good start on addressing those today.”

No question we were taking Mahomes. Which is why KC jumped us.

We were also taking Foster. Which is why SF jumped us.

If kizer is there at 42, any chance browns attempt to move up? Do they have the picks to do it?

Damn it. I hope the Saints find that bug in the war room or its going to be a long draft

Yeah, exactly, he knows his chances of getting the Defensive player he wants improves if someone jumps on a QB from 33-41.

Brad Kaaya with our second 3rd rounder

Any of our higher picks being wasted on a QB and I'll be livid

Glad they didn't. There's no one in this draft worth even a second round pick. Teams like the bears and chiefs are just playing the lottery hoping someone hits. Odds are really against it.

They considered taking one. I believe that Mahomes was that one and it's no coincidence KC specifically jumped us to get him.

That said, with Lattimore falling I don't know if we would have went Mahomes anyway. Lattimore was 3 or 4 on their board. He would have been considered but ultimately I think we end up with the same pick.

It's also why we didn't trade back. When you have a top 4 player on your board sitting at 11 you take him unless it's a real ransom.

I also believe the Cards were taking Watson, which is why the Texans specifically jumped them.

And I don't know if it was Jax or the Jets, but one of them had to have been trying to jump in front of Chi for Trubisky.

Kizer in the second would be much less of a waste that Kaaya in the third (or anywhere for that matter).

I want Willis or Bashem, but I'd rather go Kizer and a third round rusher over them and Kaaya.

Or just skip QB this year.

Just don't take Kaaya.

The browns have enough picks to do whatever they want

Browns could basically only offer picks next year or a 5th this year to move down 10 spots in round 2.

They have no 4th round pick this year and all their ammo is from next year.

Unless they did something like this:

Cleveland gets:
42
103

Saints get:
52
65

Even with that, the Saints are winning that trade massively according to pick values.
