Bird Mixtape
Bird vs Jordan
Amazing with or without the ball
Also the greatest trash talker
He could do with a basketball what few other people could. He also was clutchest of the clutch, and played great defense. He could also back up the trash talk

watching those videos did everything to confirm that larry bird is NOT even close to the greatest basketball player ever

Most overrated player ever. I would take Bernard King in his prime over Bird.

Is Larry Bird even the greatest white player of all time?

Bird wasn't even the best 6'9" player from his era.

Larry Bird is a HOF level player and top 10 of all time. Why can't we just leave it at that? He has zero claim to GOAT status.

Best ever no. Top 5 arguable.
Jordan and Kareem are 1 and 2 with a huge gap to 3rd.

On the court he is no worse than top 7. If you include CBB, NBA, coaching and FO, then I think Magic is correct.
Naismith award.
3x NBA MVP
2x Finals MVP
'98 Coach of the Year
'12 Exec of the Year
He has the GOAT basketball resume by a long shot.

Magic Johnson being a great basketball player, does not mean he always has the most accurate opinions.
See: Pretty much everything he's ever said.

Larry Bird is one of the greats. You could rank him anywhere from 4-10 IMO.

I would have liked to have seen Bird, Pistol Pete and Jerry West play the entirety of the their careers in the 3 point era. That said and despite Jordan's game being a bit archaic in the current NBA (he just didn't shoot enough 3s that one Portland game notwithstanding) its not really close.
Bird was good but he was also lucky in the same way a truly great back to the basket center would be lucky now- there wasn't a ton of athletic parity at his position. Put Draymond or Kawhi on Bird and I think he gets his but I don't think its nearly as easy. Bird vs. 80s Forwards was like Wilt vs. 50s and 60s Centers.
Oh and Bird straight up compared prime athletic Jordan to God, not to another player, but God. Praise doesn't get much higher than that.
