Well, we’re back to same place but Narcisse is probably the best looking prospect LSU has had in a while, i hope. Either way, Narcisse needs to get equal reps until September. Etling is OK, but if LSU intends to make some noice this year, gonna need Narcisse to step up.

I like Etling, but a good defense shuts him down.

Narcisse is easily the most talented QB LSU has signed since Perilloux.

Gee, I thought the best LSU QB was the second-stringer. Now, it's already down to the fourth. A guy who has had fifteen practices is now anointed the starter.

Here's a clue. If the coaches thought he was the best option, HE WOULDN"T BE FOURTH STRING!

Narcisse is going to be a good one. It still stings that we could not get him.

LSU seems to have a lot of young talent coming in at QB. And the defense still looks scary, tbh. I hope the young guns get to a chance to take over this year, just hopefully after our game.

These post are pure comedy. It's not just the uneducated uninformed assessment some fans have of Etling, the real kicker is the confidence these total fantasy based opinions of guys like Narcisse, Scott or McMillan are. Just break the OP down. "We are back to the same place" lmao this comment after a spring game (practice) where we showed nothing ran basic 8th grade routes that the defense knew were coming. Also remember where we were when Etling took over? Coming off two years of awful QB play and having to insert him in just to beat Jacksonville State. So after he saves the season surpasses anything our last 2 QBs did and had better numbers than Matt Fylnn in 2007 we are back to the same place? What's more funny is Etling really didn't do anything to warrant this reaction, he threw "A" pic, he also threw a beautiful pass up the sideline and was totally in command and comfortable. We had zero mess ups with our new shifts and motions and zero miss alignments penalties or trouble getting the plays in and snapped on time. Part two of the fantasy post..." Narcisse is the best looking prospect we've had in awhile" lol. How many throws did Narcisse make tnite? Is the OP aware that not only his classmate Myles Brennan rated as a better prospect than Narcisse but so was Etling? And we recently had a guy named Zach Mettenberger who was a pretty good player too. Now it's not set in stone that Metts career will end up being better than Narcisse's but there's a 99.9999% chance that it will. Finally and the most comedic part of this post and post like it is the absolute confidence in what these posters are saying despite ZERO data or reality based opinion to do so. This fantasy that despite factual history Etling has no chance to win any meaningful games this season yet some true freshman who isn't considered by anyone to be a sure fire starter and who isn't even the best QB in his class on this roster will carry us to the expectations this team has. Lmfao lmfao lmfao!! I love this board.

I have an idea. Lets not play Narcisse at all, then start him in the Bama game. They won't know whats coming.

Narcisse hasn't played much at all in two years. He needs time. Certainly not close to being ready to face SEC defenses.

I think Narcisse might play situationally this year. Scott or McMillan may get first dibs at that opportunity, though.

Etling simply isn't good enough, he has proven that. Narcisse is the future.

IDK about that. Do I agree Narcisse should get more reps in practices yes, but do I think he should get equal reps, no.

If we are honest with ourselves we won't be were we want to be until next year maybe the year after that.

I am really hoping Narcisse becomes the future at this program, but whether its him or Brennan both need to be brought up the right way and that takes time. Both need a redshirt.

Narcisse needs to be fully rehabbed and locked in a film room for a chance to compete in a 2018 Qb competition. Narcisse needs to understand reading blitzes coverages etc. He has been away from the field and needs to understand how to operate the offense.

Brennan needs to hit the weight room and the dinner table. Brennan will desperately get adjusted to the speed of real competition. I saw him against Brother Martin and he put up no where near the stats he did against the MS competition he played.

Throwing either one of these two guys into a starting position will ruin them. From what we would get out of them we could let Scott or McMillian run the offenses while they are properly developed.

No way Myles Brennan isn't redshirting. He might weigh 180. He needs to fill out for sure. SEC linebackers would break him.

I hope Narcisse gets himself ready too. I really want to see what he can do; the ceiling is high.

Freshman at this level struggle, period. But I think it's a myth that those struggles "ruin" QBs (or players). It may ruin coaches, or how they use a QB, but not the player.

Accept the fact it will be a struggle, use that as a learning tool.

Playmakers make plays. A QB has to be able to make plays which carries the team at times. To be risk adverse is to take opportunity away from both the player and the team. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

To me, it's mostly up to LN right now. He's putting in the work from what I hear. If he doesn't get discouraged at the lack of immediate success it will pay off. We'll all be better off with that.

Bottom line is is we are not going to beat Bama with DE, it takes a dual threat QB to win National Titles and that by far is not DE. We need a QB that is smart between the ears, that can throw and that can get out of the pocket and run if need be, All the Brennan pumpers need to sit down because the bean stalk is not going to come in and start this year and if he cant gain 40+ lbs by 2018 he wont start then either, LSJ can move and throw but his height limits him but he has Drew Brees to think about granted that is some major shoes to try and fit in and Lowell looks to be a man for being a true freshman, if lowell stays healthy i think he gets to call the plays, no we dont have any in game footage of LSJ or LN but for us to win we need a dual threat QB. Footage from Lowell and Lindsey high school career looks very good and they did not play at small nobody schools. Lets just hope and pray that one of these players steps up and takes DE job and can thrive at the QB position. The game was called soon as LSJ came in but i did see the pocket collapse on him and he escape for a 5-8 yard gain before being drilled by a linebacker
