moved around the country a good bit for work after finishing LSU....one day I'll get the chance to move back, and I'll jump on it quickly though.

Funny you say this because it also played into me leaving and having no desire to return (for residence).

Traffic .

Nah. I loved BR when I lived there. Had to move due to job change though.

Left Baton Rouge because it's the biggest shithole in the south. Left Louisiana for better opportunities

You obviously haven't been many places in the South. It absolutely has shitty parts, but it definitely isn't the worst.

The 10/12 split, north baton rouge, cortana mall, the humidity, my mosquito friends, and all the sarcasm.

Moved here in 93 for a job and left in 2015 after divorce and for a job transfer. wow did br change in those 22 years. the demographics shifted, traffic got incredibly worse, schools seemed to get worse, crime went way up, cortana mall died, florida blvd and airline highway deteriorated and my neighborhood slowly deteriorated.

It wasnt all bad. lots of interior road improvements. lots of new restaurants, shopping centers and bars. some new festivals and events. mardi gras even got bigger. and still lots of attractive ladies

I moved away 9 years ago and the thought of living there now is horrifying. I feel genuine sadness for the people living there.

I left twice..one for So.Cal in my 20's and once for Dallas in my 30's...came back both times and love living here. There is no place like So. Louisiana in the Country and I feel very blessed to have been born here and to call it home. Don't feel sorry for me....I am sorry that you are so blind to what is good here. It's a beautiful place in a lot of ways...and no place is perfect.

Nothing!!! Born and raised in south Louisiana. Lived in Br from 18-38 years old. I will always appreciate my south Louisiana roots but I will never move back. Br is a shithole waste of space. TripAdvisor's list of things to do: #2 is mikes empty cage, #9 is the parish library, #14 is that pathetic zoo, #17 is a flat bridge over a swamp, and #19 is a mall.

If I could I would love to live in Orlando, Florida but I love Baton Rouge. I grew up here and love that it's not a small town but not a big city. Having family in Jackson, MS I would be miserable living there so give me Baton Rouge any day. I made friends for life here I'm comfortable living here with my family. Also having Lsu football here is a huge plus for me.

Left last year.

Went to LSU for 6 year...two degrees...

Stayed employed in the area for another two years.

Living in Baton Rouge was starting to really grind my gears.

Traffic...traffic...traffic.

Outside of LSU football nothing really going on. Family is from New Orleans...most friends from college left to go elsewhere outside of BR.

Hot and humid during the summer. Limited outdoor opportunities unless you drove frequently.

Wanted to move close to New Orleans, couldn't.

Choose Alaska and never looked back.
