Drink beer and eat brats.
I stayed downtown and to walked everywhere. Nice city. Plenty of breweries to tour and river boat tours.

Beer and wurst are a given but try some Kopp's Frozen Custard.

It's a nice city, very clean. I would go to Lake Michigan and chill on the beach or go tour one of the brewery's.

Stayed there for the LSU/Wisconsin game. Nice downtown. Water St has a lot of bars with good food and brews. Had a lot of potential for a great time, but just doesn't have that "it" feel to it. So in short, nice but lame.

Shaker's cigar bar is pretty cool. Used to be an old brothel owned by Al Capone's brother. Interesting cocktails and you can smoke a cigar if you want.
It was also one of Jeffery Dahmer's favorite hangouts and is purportedly haunted. The bartenders have good stories.

It's nothing special, but lots of restaurants and bars along the river in downtown. There's a cool market in that area. Take a pic with the bronze Fonzi. Miller park is cool.

Tour lakefront brewery. There's always the choice to tour Miller, but I found it underwhelming. Lakefront was way better. Go to Hoffbrauhaus (Old German Beer Hall) on 3rd and State. Great lakes distillery is pretty cool, too, as is Milwaukee Public Market.
Whatever you do, if you've never had it before, make sure to try spotted cow beer, you can only buy it in the state of Wisconsin. Everywhere will have it.

Not sure if it's your thing but I took some time to drive by the old beer barons' "castles" along the lake side & was blown away. Drawing a blank but there is a major road that skirts the lake & those castles are incredible.

I stayed in Milwaukee to attend the Wisconsin game a few years back and really enjoyed the city. The primary tourist activity would probably be to attend a brewery.tour or two...there are a good number of them downtown where you can stay and have a few beers. I understand that there are a lot of cheese factories that you can tour as well, but I couldn't get to that.
Also may attend a pro baseball game, if there happens to be one while you are there.
Even if you are not a motorcycle person, you need to visit the Harley Davidson museum and factory.
ETA: chi town Badger was the go-to source for info in that area and really helped when planning my trip. You can take anything he says here as good.

I liked Milwaukee a lot. Pretty/clean/safe city. There are some restaurants on the river in down town. Plus they have that weird looking art building on the north side of town on the water. Nice walking trail there. Go to a brewers game. It's out of town and you can park right at the stadium instead of looking for parking garages

Beers, Brats, and Burgers. Sobelman's makes a great burger.
If you like golf and can fit a round in, you have Whistling Straits courses, The Bull, etc. Unfortunately Erin Hills is Closed in prep for the US Open.

Lakefront Brewery your for sure. Try to catch a fish fry there too. Bonus if you do them the same day.

Harley museum. Not much to do there...
I'd make the drive to Green Bay and see lambeau

I went to a concert
Van Morrison and his little brass band.
Opening act, Minnie Ripperton, who stole the show.
only time I was ever there. Have a friend, Phd history, teaches at UW-Milwaukee.
Never see him since he moved there.

Not a bad town at all. Stayed there for the UW game and really enjoyed the city.
