I've never known of/witnessed gay guys harassing straight guys sexually. Not sure if serious.
It happened to me. In college I went to a gay bar at the insistence of my gay dorm roommate. It was a dare and he bought my drinks. One gay guy hit on me and asked me to come home with him.
I couldn't say 'Sorry, I'm straight' because then he'd say 'WTF are you doing in this bar?' So, I told him I had an exam in the morning. He moved on to another guy.
It was an interesting evening. I felt like an anthropologist doing a field study.

Another guy calling me beautiful in class would weird me the hell out.

Having seen a number of similar situation in the Navy (especially during DADT, and thankfully none ended in suicide) I'm going to go out on a limb and say there's more to the story. Nobody's committing suicide over a harassment lawsuit. Dollars to doughnuts these guys have a bit more history than a random gay guy hitting on a random straight guy and everything blowing up out of nowhere.

ETA: And I'm not saying that procedurally the way this case was handled wasn't messed up. It certainly seems that way. But then we're only getting the plaintiff's side of the story.
And suicide is a complicated thing, but this episode as a single contributing factor doesn't really hold up unless this kid had a lot more going on.

but suicide...
Not to sound unsympathetic, but the focus should be on the administration's ruling.
There was zero evidence to back the accuser's claim, but because he was gay and had Title IX to shield him, everything he said was taken as fact and the accused was punished without any form of due process.
I guess everyone is "innocent until proven guilty" unless you're gay and accusing a straight male of saying mean things, in which case the straight male is automatically guilty. That is bullshite to the highest order and I hope his family wins their suit.

I've never witnessed a rape, but I'm pretty sure it happens.
Not saying which party is right, since it is word against word, but how did they determine to find for the gay guy? was there a witness? History of it from Klock?

I'm serious.
Not that I have tons of gay friends, but my wife is an architect and works with several gay guys. I have heard them laughing at at the assertion that they target straight guys to hit on.
For one thing, straight guys don't usually dress/groom well enough to pique their interest.
Wow. just....wow. let's change this to white/black and see how this plays out.

Now. Why is it appropriate for anyone to say this?

quote:Nah. In cases of sexual harassment/impropriety/assault the accused (if male) is always treated like shite and the accuser is always practically taken at his/her word unless the story just can't possibly hold up (like the little slut down in Texas a few weeks ago).

Sounds like he could have been gay

Isn't it the truth?
I am used to women telling me that, but......
Oh, who the heck am I fooling? No, I'm not.

Without going into too much detail, it has happened to me. A guy I used to work with tried to force himself on me, knowing I am straight. It ended bloody.

While I am not a fan of what Title IX has become, this sounds not like a Title IX issue but a University of Texas issue, who handled it terribly by denying Klocke his due process rights.
Title IX is the engine that drives the train. And the conflicting orders from DOJ on how to interpret it have caused almost 100% of these campus violations of rights.

Unfortunately, given the uber-liberal state of higher education, very likely he would not be accepted as he would be considered a "risk" to other students.
And in that system, it truly is guilty by charge with no real way to defend himself, and even if he didn't kill himself and sued the university and won, the other universities would still blackball him.

Speaking from personal experience, i get "harassed" all the time at work by a gay guy. I don't make a big deal about it because every one loves the guy, but if I said half the shite to girls that he says to me, id be fired with a quickness.
