Bay St. Louis and Black Spring Break

Was planning on doing a day trip to Bay St. Louis this weekend and just saw that Biloxi black spring break is going on. Does it stay contained to mostly the Biloxi and Gulfport area, or will I have to deal with the crowds in Bay St. Louis as well?

Black spring break matters...

Not going to be a big deal in BSL. You're good. You have the Long Beach buffer. Also I49 leads right into GPort and those traveling on I10 will get off at GPT and Biloxi exits.

If you are in LB, Pass & BSL, you wouldn't even know it was going on in GPT/Biloxi.

What an awful thread. I'd hate to see anyone's weekend ruined after running into some minorities.

Well that is what the event is called. I think they were wanting to avoid the god awful traffic that this event brings.

You have no idea what happens at this event. It will be a shite show.

I think his question has less to do with running into some minorities and more to do with avoiding a frick ton of people.

My only experience with black spring break happened in 2000. I was sitting in my car at a red light and a car with dark tinted windows pulled up next to me. The window rolls down and a black gentleman with gold teeth asked me, "Hey white boy. Do you like black arse?" I tried to ignore him and wasn't quite sure what he asked. He screamed it at me this time while hanging out the window right next to me. I looked at him and said I like all arse.
What happened next made me realize that not everyone is out to get you. People just want to have a good time, regardless of what they look like. The back window rolls down and out springs the biggest black girl's butt I've ever seen. Pants drop, full moon commences. Everyone in their car starts cracking up, and so did I. It was one of the funniest things that ever happened to me. That being said, I'd avoid it because of the traffic alone.
TLDR - Your loss.

Kappa Beach Party in Galveston > Bay St Louis Black Spring Break

He clearly mentioned crowds. HWY 90 becomes pretty much locked down with traffic during these events in Biloxi. It is quite miserable to try and get anywhere from one of the casinos, etc.

I thought this was held in Galveston?

There should be no impact...what do y'all have planned? The local arts paper is the Shoofly and it gets published today, https://www.bslshoofly.com/, it will have the events calender for Saturday (it's already up although it says March), 2nd Saturday around these parts...which is the best day of the month to visit. Hope y'all enjoy.
If you have any questions about BSL just ask.
The back patio at the Sycamore House is the best spot in town for drinks or a bite to eat right now.

Wait,
"Black spring break" is a real thing?

Even more reason to go. Especially if you're a white guy. I'd be there if I was closer. Almost guaranteed at least 1 lay. As long as you're somewhat normal and decent looking.

In the late 90s I was in high school, I was in the Key Club, and we had our convention in Biloxi and it was the weekend of black spring break.
While there were no spring breakers in our hotel (our entire hotel was people there for the convention), they were up and down the beach.
as an impressionable 17 year old white boy, I was rather impressionable and some of the sights were simply, well, awesome for a 17 year old boy.
Traffic wasn't an issue because we arrived and left on a bus and could walk wherever we needed to go, but i remember the traffic basically being bumper to bumper all weekend.
We had a great time watching the sights. Our chaperones were a bit on edge though

I49 does not enter the state of MS silly, try again.
To the OP, stay off Hy. 90 and you won't have any issues.
BSL/Waveland will not be as bad as Gulfport or Biloxi but will see a bit of traffic up until the 603 intersection.

49 absolutely passes through Gport, it doesn't show up blue on the map so it's probably not an I...but it's I49 to folks this way. Connects the coast to Hattisburg.
