Its frustrating because we were in position to win this thing but all in all starting off 3-1 vs a division contender-Ill take it.

The extremes some of y'all are jumping to in game 4 to quote Ryno, is a discouraging trend.
We need to stop acting like this is college baseball with a 60 game season.
Guys don't suck because they go hitless for a series
Pitchers aren't garbage because they have a bad outing.
The one extreme to the other shtick needs to die. JMO

KC looks like a mess. I agree that we should be expecting 2/3 from them. Can't really complain about this series considering we hardly did anything offensively and still went 3-1.

3-1 is a great start to the year

3-1 is a solid series. Could have easily been a sweep if any one hitter woke up.
Altuve
Correa
Beltran
Yuli
Lots of missed opportunities there but to be 3-1 with a largely lifeless offense is a victory. They'll get it going.

Did you mean to reply to me, baw?

Agreed.
The hits will come. Even though we didn't smoke the ball this series (excluding Springer), you can see the potential is there for this team to crush the frick out of the ball on the reg.
Gotta also credit Seattle's pitching staff. They're actually pretty tough.

No baw. Just general comments.

Some baws are gonna vent fire in here. Some more often than others. It's no big thing.

I hope its not an extended slump to start the season like last year. The good news is (outside of Altuve), we weren't really striking out like crazy. Keep putting the ball in play and good things tend to happen. We gon' kill some rallies with double plays for sure. But I'll take my chances with contact.

Hey it's a Stros thread. We've got plenty over the years to vent about.
It's just making me and I'm sure a few others crazy with the extremes. (Ex: a guy goes 0-3 with 3 K's...there are tons of "player X sucks." No...player X sucks TONIGHT. Big difference.

Stop blaming the umps. Our offense is abysmal. Altve Correa and Beltran are all hot garbage at the moment. I expect 2 of them to vastly improve.

Our offense was abysmal...this series...the first series of the season.
Everybody will improve.
And you've got to give some credit to Seattle's pitching

Pretty much where I'm at. Pitching was really good for the most part. And we won 3 of 4 when two of our big three were not really producing. Altuve had some terrible ABs this series, hope he gets that sorted quickly. Correa on the other hand, outside of a few ABs where he just did not recognize the low strikes, was scorching the ball. It just kept going right to people

Altuve sucks right now. There's no beating around that one. He's in a major slump (by Altuvian standards). It took 100 games last season for him to have his 3rd game with 2 strikeouts and he's reached that in 4 games.
He may need a day off to watch his game film and identify some issues. I'd be fine with that. It just seems to come down to his plate approach. Taking some good pitches, being susceptible to chasing off speed below the zone. He'll break out of it, hopefully soon.
Some of the other guys, I'm not as sure about. Beltran is old as dirt. Can he continue to hit or has he dropped off a cliff? Yuli...he's not a proven ML hitter yet. Still got to show that he can consistently hit.

I'm not blaming the umps for losing. I blame Blaser for being horrible.
The offense has been bad the whole series. Happy to get 3 of 4.

All these guys will improve. George will come back down to earth. Altuve is a little arrogant right now thinking he can hit absolutely anything and swinging at trash.
Got out of a four game series 3-1. The goal is to win every series because you're not going undefeated. Goal accomplished.
Moving on to KC.
