-Great product with an incredible amount of young talent
-Several teams in contention, lots of divisional intrigue
-A return to grass infields, all breathtakingly manicured
-MLB.tv and MLB At Bat apps are awesome user experiences
-Statcast technology, need I say more?
This was the most enjoyable Opening Day that I can remember.

The ticketless system is great too. First time I had used it was last night. Easy to buy and share tickets with friends

but you know what I meant. Most divisions have 3-4 teams with a roster capable of winning it, whereas in years past you could pencil NYY to win the AL East, the Cards to win the NL Central, etc.

MLB is awesome, but Rob Manfred makes me nervous

Yeah ideally MLB would have a commissioner that actually liked baseball

Meh, parity is overrated.

And I know nobody cares about what Cowherd has to say...but he's banged on MLB for a few years now. He pretty much thinks baseball is about to become MASSIVE moving forward.
Either way, it's in a really good place.

On top of that storylines like the Giants, Royals, and Cubs winning it all after massive droughts (yes the giants had a big ole drought before this "dynasty" began) really help bring more casual fans into the game. As we've seen with College Football people really start to despise a sport when one team dominates too much.

What will make Baseball Great again is the CTE crisis in football

I agree with him. Baseball is in the midst of a renaissance. The salary numbers tell the story. Cable cord cutting is a huge boon for them.
I just wish it was a little more economical to go to the ballpark.

How is cordcutting a boon? Local tv money will dry up as a result

Yeah. Plus he's just a cagey looking bastard

It should have started Friday night or Saturday IMO. Other than that,

And MLB Advanced Media will grow by leaps and bounds. They haven't even started selling ad space on mlb.tv yet. Eventually, they will lift blackout restrictions and as video media evolves further into a web-driven enterprise, they will take over the entire operation.

Nope.
Sports like soccer and lacrosse will, and already are, replacing football in middle class America.
Basketball will be the bigger beneficiary than baseball in urban America.

The one thing they could be doing better is promoting the individual talent better. Mike trout is the baseball equivalent of Lebron and is in the LA market yet I'd bet 60-70% of Americans couldn't pick him out of a lineup. Compare that to lebron.
There's a massive amount of young talent with trout correa Bryant Harper seager betts etc. yet the only thing I can think of nationally is that trout had a subway commercial.
If they could promote some of those guys a bit better they will have a boom here in the next decade
