My dog is 16 pounds. Half Dachshsund half Miniature Pincher. I adopted him at 10 weeks old for $75. If you have ruled out adoption for no reason you're an ignorant twat and don't deserve to own an animal.

The best way to buy a dog is to not buy a dog and adopt instead

I believe this is an appropriate place to say, "Adopt don't shop." They are always having events around BR, and in Nola/Metairie as well.

Lol at the down votes

Went to adoption place multiple times. Made it to hard and I bought.

Plus they fall over themselves to say how all their dogs are from the South bc they have kill shelters, and you southern baws are too dumb to spay and neuter. By all means continue the downvotes though.

So you bought a sick dog from a shite hole and that's that?

Whenever people say adopt, the don't mean go to the pound and find the nasty, skinny, poorly treated dogs. It just means find the dogs don't have a home. There are adoption puppies everywhere. Even if you want a specific breed, like a bitch arse pug, there are pug rescues everywhere.

Exactly. "Adopt" gets a negative vibe for some reason - but it's definitely not like "Oh shite I'm going to adopt all I have to choose from are these near-death old dogs."

shite.. go to PetFinder and you will find a ton of dogs for adoption. I bet they even have the breed OP is looking for.

I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but he has the most confidence out of any dog I've ever had in my family.

lol insufferable dog adoption faction going strong

Edit- Adoption is great, and should be consider everytime. that is where it ends though. If you want a dog from there you have the right and obligation to find the right fit for you. Also I know adoption is easier in the South, but I am sorry wanting to random visit my house is absurb. Sorry just bc you give 3 days a week to the local shelter doesn't mean you can just pop by anytime you want.

I got shut down on a dog at my local shelter because someone wasn't home all day.

I bought a dog, and it turns out probably from a puppy mill. It is ashame, but the dog goes to doggy day care everyday and has the life

Bottom line the whole shelter dog crowd and be rigid and insufferable

Yeah, they are idiots. I have met people who were denied because they had outdoor kennels. It's absurd.
