Looking around the internet there seems to be a great deal of shady people trying to scam folks. Don't want a big dog, something like a pug.

Also, before someone even says it, I know adoption is an option and no i don't want to do that.

The AKC website should have a list of reputable breeders.

Or use puppyfind.com/petfinder.com

Just get someone knocked up.

Making babies is more fun than picking up a dog, and most people don't have to pay to do it.

Kids are even more challenging to train, and will still give you the experience of having to clean up crap off your rug.

The rescue/adoption only crowd is insufferable.

We've gone down that road several times in the past in my family. Last time we did it the dog had distemper and died. and then we had to keep the other pets out of the house for over month. but yes, i'm an a-hole i guess

There's nothing wrong with getting a specific purebred. Different breeds have different needs, temperaments, and health issues. With a purebred you have a better idea of what kind of dog you're dealing with, especially since you can see the bitch and sire.

Maybe so, but not because of this.

Still, you shouldn't get a dog.

This -plus crazies at my NJ place wanted to visit our house multiple times, and they ranked adopters gave dog to best fit.

Honestly not worth it
