are you under the impression that you have to tax the rich to help the middle class?
Estate taxes are supposed to retard the growth of an American aristocracy(they don't well enough) .

That is sickening. It's simply anti-freedom and selfish. Hey look these guys were smart with their money and saved up enough for future generations to enjoy..... TAKE IT FROM THEM!!!!

They don't at all. Besides being incredibly poorly thought out - they're easily bypassed by trusts and so forth.
Rich people are super adroit at avoiding (yes, legally avoiding taxes is "a thing") taxes they don't like. That's why broad based, across the board tax cuts are ALWAYS the way to go and any targeted "on the rich" taxes will ALWAYS fall short.
We have to do this every year around budget time, but if it changes just one fricked up Marxist's mind - one time - the effort is worth it.

Aristocracy doesn't equal wealth.

How is it aristocrat? Aristocracy is when the rulers and elites have gov't sanctioned privileges to gain power and money

Classic liberal thought process. Middle class gets a tax cut...but it's still bad because the wealthy get one too!!
The tax codes shouldn't be a tool for revenge.

Those are much better examples of an "aristocracy" than the guy with a family farm passing it down to his children.

Might the reason top quintile pays more taxes, be because they hold 85% of the country's wealth?

quote:I mean I don't know why I am bothering cause you are the worst, but the deficit and tax policy are 2 different issues. Goverment revenue has gone up by a large amount with ever major tax cut going back to the beginning of the 20th century. The fact that the goverment spending increases even faster is a while different issue. It didn't change the fact that the best thing to do evening is to lower taxes to the point where the economy is working at peak efficiency. Also, Democrats, libs, leftists dint get to talk about deficits ever again. Your golden boy managed to waste more money we didn't have in 8 years than every other administration combined going back to the beginning of the country
Conservative tax policy has always been a joke. Raise the deficit to the direct benefit of the rich.

Except not in reality.

so disingenuous
Or are you really dumb enough to think those making 180k income a year are the wealthy. Wealth is different than income. Of course if you make 30 grand...You are envious of all of it.

I just want an explanation on how this is s tax increase on the middle class when looking at for over 1 minute makes you realize it will be a tax cut.

quote:The vast majority of "wealth" holding in the central 3 quintiles is measured in home ownership. Sampling the population during the darkest portion of a US real estate price collapse in 2010 obviously skews "wealth" numbers.

Quintiles are quintiles, champ. Numbers easily disprove his false statement.

I'm bothered that both tax plans give the biggest relief for the people on top. Crazy that so many people look the other way on this issue.

Did you even read the thread? That has been addressed multiple times.

How do you give a tax cut to people who don't pay taxes?
