Has anyone been lately? Does the launch have bait? Are the fish inside like stump lagoon or do I run out to Anthansio area?

I am taking the wife and I have not been fishing since the little one was born. I will update when I get back.

TIA

Last time I went was a month ago. Marina did not have live bait but the new owners and staff are great.

I fished everything from the MRGO rocks, to the St Malo rocks at Lake Borgne to Pete's lagoon (north of muscle bay) and caught one trout. It was a horrible day for fishing tho. And I'm not the best fisherman in the world Probably should have went south.

But, you can't catch em from the couch... Good luck

Thanks for the reply, had a buddy said he went to Breton Island and caught some white trout. I just was not sure to head that far south or if stump had any fish in it right now.

If I was going this weekend, I'd be going to Delacroix

Last time I went was about a month ago as well. The new owners did not have live bait as previously mentioned. Heard its due to a problem with the previous owner Sanchez taking the shrimp boats or something like that.

We drift fished around Lake Ameda with matrix shads and berkley rattle shrimp under cork. Both days we went were super windy but we managed a decent haul each time.

Last time I went was mid February. Managed a pretty good haul. Water quality was pretty good. A lot can change in that time tho. No matter where you go, stick and move. Gotta go find em.

I went Sunday and caught 4 keeper reds and two trout. My buddy caught 6 solid trout, 2 reds and a bass. I couldn't get them to hit artificial, I was using shrimp from Campo's. I put in at the Hopedale marina.

I'd bet on a skeeter 24

I went sunday as well, no bait yet, they are supposedly waiting on a live bait lic, which is coming soon.

Sunday was very tough for most that I saw. I did see a guide with 73 big females, so they are biting somewhere.

I wouldn't waste the fuel to go that far, yet.

There's A LOT of other options between stump lagoon and Breton islands.

Went to Delacroix today, water looked good off of the pencil canal. We had a great day, lots of trout, even managed a few reds and bass.

The marina won't have bait until April. There is a sensor at 4 horse in Delacroix that will text your phone every hour the salinity and the conductivity of the water. This week is the clearest it's been all year. I'm going in the morning and also Saturday.

Thanks I have changed plans and am going to Delacroix Saturday morning and plan to hit areas near the pencil as well. Just looked at a map and have my route planned. Hopefully this wind coming won't mess up the marsh too bad and the water will be clean enough come Saturday.

Is there supposed to be fog on Saturday?

Went last Friday despite all that wind had 12 nice reds, 17 trout, 5 drum, and a real nice bass. All caught on live shrimp under a cork. Had to run all over the place to find the fish. Best luck was near Shrimp Lagoon.
