A handout. He wants a handout.

I don't want shite. I just want you all to stop trying to discount and belittle the effects of slavery. That shite is insulting as frick. I don't get mad about the money because I have made plenty of my own, but for some here to be so insulting and belittling is disgusting. No one said that anyone here was a slave owner nor a direct descendant from slaves, but plenty here get riled up about the thought of anyone else that is white being compassionate about it. Why is that?

Oh that's cute. You think legality still matters in the courts. Im afraid if they pick the right venue they will get paid. Our courts seem so fd up lately.

You sure make a big stink about it considering you don't want any of it. We've left this slavery shite in the past and think of you as equals. Blacks haven't reciprocated and try to hold this shite over our heads like we were personally whipping negroes right before lunch.

i don't know. I'm sure it would be in the billions.
Average monthly farm wage in Alabama in 1850 was $9.00. That's $108/year, and let's assume 20 years of lost wages, on average, for a slave. There were 3,204,000 slaves in the US in 1850. Let's assume 3% inflation for 165 years and that comes out to ~$908.5 billion that would be owed, presumably split up proportionally among folks who could prove their relation to slaves at the time.

Says the guy who belittled the slavery of the Irish in this very thread.
Irony.

It's a touchy subject for both sides. I can certainly sympathize that blacks have had a raw deal in this country. I can also sympathize that white people are told that they're what's wrong with everything in the world.

Jesus Christ! Why don't you all realize that this is a stupid, insensitive argument? How was coming here as an European immigrant the same as slavery? Were immigrants lynched? Were the killed for knowing how to read? Did they go Jim Crow? The two situations are not the same, get over it. Stop trying to use that as a basis for your bias and bigotry.
I will tell you this quote shows how woefully inadequate education has gotten in this country.
Many, many of the white immigrants were treated as badly as the former slaves were. They were basically slaves (indentured servitude), paid little to nothing, performed back breaking labor and yet somehow their descendants aren't out shaking the money tree.

I don't understand how that's the government's responsibility to pay that money.

Is it too much racistness to ask for segregated lanes of traffic? The burden is real.

Coming from the person who told me a page ago that you don't give a frick about my compassion nor do you give a frick about my ancestors. You're joking right? People were giving you shite for your BS and the fact that you've been an arse this thread. You couldn't have a real conversation but rather chose to sling generalities and then would resort to name calling when called out on it.
As far as white people being compassionate, I have zero issue with it. If someone wants to feel the are relieving themselves of something there skin color brought upon themselves then that is their prerogative and God speed to them. I for one give and do for compassion of my fellow man regardless of skin color. Your entire argument seems to not give a frick about that compassion because it doesn't benefit you or the narrative you are trying to push.

The US Government used the military to kill and/or relocate Indians. Did the US government own slaves?

Ah, well that totally absolves you of the hypocrisy then. Carry on.
