Of course he is. He's the 2nd best player ever. Is harden even top 50?
He will be by the end of his career. All BS aside he's one of the best offensive players ever.
Regarding your question, the defensive stuff was overblown and cost him a spot on the all-NBA teams. He's not the best defender in the league or anything, but he is a solid defender. His strength is offense.
This is one of the few non-troll responses you're going to get, m8.

You know what's wild, when he was young with OKC, he used to play hella good defense vs Kobe specifically. Effort and energy was off the charts.
So he's definitely capable.

Didn't you mention MVP talk in your post?
Yes.
So I framed my answer as it pertains to MVP talk.

You asked about Harden's defense and if it was still bad so you obviously are implying heavily Westbrook is the better defender of the two. #boombubbalogic

He mentioned MVP talk then when he gets it. "Oh That wasn't what he was asking for."

Yeah and I mentioned MVP so I couldn't be talking about kd, lebron, or IT. It MUST be russ

He/they has/have a serious obsession with Russ.
It's very unhealthy.

There are only 2 true Candidates for MVP. Everyone else is a long shot. At best.

Kawhi and Westbrook?

Well everyone only discusses offensive numbers ideas just curious about the defensive one since there are 2 parts of a basketball game.

Yep, I have mentioned that before. And back then, he was the team's alpha. He would get all in Kobe's shite. I remember that matchup that went to 6 games between the Lakers and Thunder thinking that Harden was the only dude who Russ would listen to. Maybe it was because they are both LA guys. At that time, I just knew those dudes were going to win like 5 titles.

I am definitely on the side of not being convinced KD/Russ/Harden were a lock for titles.
You can't let Russ be Russ and James be James on the same team. Aren't they both leading the NBA for usage rates by guards? Harden would have continued his lesser role, and OKC would have gotten obliterated inside.
Obviously we'll never know but that was Presti's thought process. And I also believe OKC probably wins a title sometime between 2012 and last year had they not dealt with major injuries every damn season since Harden left.
Interesting to think about nonetheless, and I can't wait to get Boom's take!

By who? They were perfectly built to take on any team with size. They dethroned the Lakers and Spurs in the same year with their more athletic younger back courts. Playing Perkins vs small ball line ups(the heat) was their only weakness

They had to spot the Spurs two games in a WCF match when all season they had been running them off the court when healthy
