I've really never understood this. It's chronic on both sides.

Have Americans completely lost the ability to distill diverse information and form it into their own thoughts?

It would be one thing if it was day, a link to relevant data in a discussion.

But, "uh uh, look, here's this other person's opinion that I'll use as a proxy for my own" is lame assed shite.

They lack the ability to be able to think for themselves.

I see nothing wrong with posting someone else's thoughts when they have something interesting to say that you wanted to share.

I... I honestly don't even know what I believe anymore. All I know is that I have this unprecedented urge to always be right. I will back up that emotional need with whatever unsubstantiated claim I can find. Does this help?

I'll try to always give my take, but sometimes I don't and the reason is that what I say becomes the subject of conversation rather than the topic by itself, so the whole point of discussion is lost in lieu of my take on it. That isn't the point of such a thread. That's one reason I'll do it from time to time, and then I'll post my opinion.

I think one of my threads got anchored due to this. It's called "life" and "work".

You get a few minutes on here then you got shite to do.

Some are trolling. But some are like me. Had shite to do between my post and having to sit in carpool to get my kid. Lol
