Nasty over the top movement going, any one have any recommendations here in the BR area? Would be willing to go to laf or nola for the right instructor.

Rob at golftec was good but he's the Mizuno rep now. Ryan is still there and does an alright job. Expensive though.

GolfTec is your best bet. You will spend a pretty penny but it will be worth it. Plus, you'll be able to go online and rewatch your swings and do other training exercises to help you improve. After two lessons at GolfTec my game got exponentially better. Then one of my friends told me to close my grip and everything went to shite.

NOLA will have a Top Golf soon, so you can practice there.

Chris Burkstaller at The Island
Andrew Lanahan at UC
Travis Coxe at Santa Maria
All 3 great teachers and have skill sets that are better suited for different skills of players. Chris would be great for beginners to average players. Andrew is great for your average to better than average player. Travis is more suited for your advanced players. Of the 3, Travis is a bit more technical.
I would not recommend golf tec. Would much prefer to not learn how to swing like a robot just to achieve "numbers" on a machine. Get out there on a real range and see real time results.
Good Luck!

Go to NOLA instead, and see Brian Manzella at English Turn. He's not cheap, but he's worth it if you really want to improve.

Make a day of it and go to Shreveport - David Toms 265 Academy - see Sean - it is legit and worth the time and money.
it ain't cheap but most good things aren't

Take a ball and tee it up an inch in the middle of your stance with a six iron. Turn your right foot inward so your foot and knee are pointed at the bball. Take a half swing using only your hips to power it, don't put any arm into it.
Hit a bucket of balls doing this and it will give you the feeling of where your hips should be at impact. You will not be able to come over the top.

As a former college player and club pro, I'd recommend Rob Noel at Money Hill. He's the best and it's really not close.
I started going to Noel in college after seeing Chuck(LSU) for a year or so. Chuck was good, but Rob was better (to me).
Don't know if he's still around, but David Marchand was pretty good as well (if he's still around BR).

Not a substitute for a good live pro lesson, but rotaryswing.com was very helpful to me, teaching me the mechanics of the swing. It's very technical, if you're into that type of thing (which I am). It's a web site with many dozens of instructional videos, and you can film your swing and send to them for analysis. I believe the first month is free.
