There is no way Will Wade is coming, so just strike him off the list.
We need to be looking at Kevin Keatts.

He was on top of his list of "Other names out there".
Kevin Keatts - Head Coach UNC-Wilmington

On the complete list, there's no mention of Steve Forbes. ???

We are not above hiring a top notch assistant

This List is horrible and includes 3 coaches that would laugh at joe for even calling. (Prohm, wade, Brey )

Jones still being "employed" is embarrassing. We all know he's getting fired, why hasn't it been announced yet? This University is once again creating unnecessary drama.

He must have read The Advocate this morning before he wrote this.

They just played a game last night. People are making too big of a deal about the timing of this.

I agree with Brey, but I absolutely think Prohm would listen.
He's got FAR more connections with with south/SEC/Louisiana than he does with the midwest. No question Iowa St. is a better basketball program right now. But that doesn't mean LSU couldn't become the better program. There are great athletes in Louisiana and the surrounding areas. Last I checked, the SEC network money isn't specifically earmarked for football, and try as they might, the Big 12 aint pulling in that kind of TV contract. LSU has the resources to quickly equal or pass up ISU.
On the personal side, Prohm grew up in Georgia. Graduated from Alabama. And broke into coaching in the state of Louisiana where he was an assistant for 7 years at three different Louisiana schools. One of his coaching mentors is Billy Kennedy, a New Orleans native. His top assistant is a Mississippi native with connections in the area. Another assistant is also from Mississippi and played for Prohm at Southeastern LA.
Prohm's team this year is senior laden, which means next year will probably be a rebuilding year in a tough conference. That might be a tough task especially when it's likely "The Mayor" of Ames, Iowa (Fred Hoiberg) may be looking for a job soon. You don't think ISU fans wouldn't desperately want him back?
He's probably not my #1 choice for the LSU job, but I don't know (outside of Scott Drew) if there would be a better fit for LSU, Prohm and his coaching staff. Plus, he's making exactly what LSU was paying Jones to put that garbage on the court.
You don't think the potential of making an extra $500k to $1 mill in a state you and your staff knows well at a school that has every resource you could ask for would be intriguing? I think Prohm would ABSOLUTELY take a call from Joe Alleva!

I say hire the best recruiter out of Prohm, Wade or Beard. Don't think we can go wrong hiring one of these 3 as for as basketball coaching goes. Only thing that could hurt one of these 3 coaches is poor recruiting.

Chris Beard is the only name on that list that stands out as being a candidate...on that list...the rest are pipe dreams.

I like Mike Brey and have seen him on a few lists at this point. Is there some connection he has to LSU that I don't know about? Why is a guy who has been pretty successful at a big school being linked with our opening? Is it some kind of Duke connection or wishful thinking? I can't see him coming to LSU.

Why the hell would Mike Brey leave the successful program he is at to come to the shite show that is LSU right now?

Brey may not come to LSU, but he's not laughing at the call. Dude only makes $1.7 million. At the very least, he's going to leverage LSU's interest into a raise.

Why not?

I don't know if TTU is his "dream job" (coaches say that all the time), but he has spent a ton of coaching career in Texas. I sure he is very comfortable there. The only reason you might say "maybe" is because TTU isn't paying him all that much. If his name comes up in LSU talks I think it's just a leverage play to get more money from TTU?

I didn't know these 6 were the only option.
The last two people I would like is Musselman and Kermit Davis. If we have to hire one of them, we might as well hire shaq.
