When did this nonsense start? It's disingenuous at best.

Tell that to the former POTUS and his corrupt Bureaucracy. They abandoned the Rule of Law and still do; it is now simply whether Trump does too...or loses the power to expose and root out this corruption...before it goes to the Street.

No going back now.

The difference here is that Snowden ran into the arms of Russia and China, while Assange would probably be killed by either nation. Assange is a danger to all governments. Assange is a man with NO HOME.

If Clapper doesn't lie to Congress about massive 4th amendment violations, Snowden never happens.

It's as simple as that.

Going through the so called legal channels is the fastest way to get thrown into some hole now dude. At least that what it was like under Bush and Obama.

There are ways to express your concern other than running to Vlad Putin.

Ca you name any other countries that's strong and secure enough to offer asylum from the all powerful wrath of the U.S. Government that considered Snowden number one on their shite list?

Not every citizen is born with a law degree up his butt. Snowden is a hero, not a traitor. We stopped being a nation of laws a long time ago. Snowden couldn't have exposed the govt if we had been a nation of laws.

Very true, but what I can't get around is he running into the arms of Communist China and Russian Federation.

Having said that though, it is getting more difficult to figure out who is a bigger threat, Russia, China, Iran, Terrorism, or the damn elite that run this nation through the deep state shadow government it has planted deeply into our daily lives.. i.e. Politicians at local, state, and federal levels; intelligence agency higher ups; judges; and we could go on and on how far the rabbit hole goes.

By now nothing would surprise me. China says they can control the rain. I've read it in their own state newspaper, but people here refuse to believe our nation would ever dabble in that type science screwing with the weather or attempting to stop climate change (at least that is their excuse). I remember China saying they can change rain to snow. Crickets in our media.

Nothing would surprise me. If someone came to me back in the early 90's and said our food was not real I'd laugh them off the site. Yet, we know now that GMO's are in 70% of products in the grocery store.

If Snowden went through those channels, he might as well have put a big fat piece of paper on his self that said he was going to expose their dirty laundry and walk around CIA and NSA headquarters.

Those are the only two countries on Earth that could reasonably protect him from the full power and fury of the U.S. Government and that's not even debatable.

He's a dead man going to any other country.

You folks really need to stop drinking the Alex Jones koolaid.

FFS I'm one of the most outspoken opponents of government bureaucracy overreach, bloat, etc. on this board...but at some point you have to use a bit of common sense.

There are whistle-blower channels in all government agencies. They work. Even the CIA has an IG. Or hell contact a Congressman or Senator from the opposite party in power of the sitting President. I'm sure they'll open an investigation REAL damn fast.

Repeating bullshite you read on goldennugget's conspiracy sites doesn't make you correct.

Using the "legal channels" works, and far more often than occurrences of anyone being "thrown into some hole."

This is the crux of the matter. When the system has become lawless, it is the duty of the citizens to expose it and correct it by whatever means necessary. Our founding fathers would consider Snowden a hero. frick the US government, the NSA and the CIA.
