This movie is a complete cash grab and embarrassment to Disney. It is the exact same movie as the cartoon. Same songs and characters. Just like Jungle Book, they are cashing in on the naivety of this generation's youth.
Using your logic every single movie that adapts a book, play, or comic or any existing IP is just a cash grab. Remakes like the 1939 Wizard of Oz, 1964 A Fistful of Dollars, 1982 The Thing, 2010 True Grit are all soulless cash grabs. Just go watch the original amirite?

Alabama Theater Refuses to Show ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Because of Gay Character
by Mary Emily O'Hara
A classic drive-in theater in northeast Alabama said it was cancelling plans to show Disney's new Beauty & the Beast film, about a girl who falls in love with an animal, because of the film's "homosexual character."
The Dekalb County theater's new owner explained in a Thursday night Facebook post that "we are first and foremost Christians" and "When companies continually force their views on us we need to take a stand."
An NBC News request for comment did not immediately receive a response.
NBC News also discovered that the "Coming Soon" section of the Alabama theater's website featured a poster for the film Fierce!, a "dragumentary" that says on its Facebook page it's a "heartfelt look at the drag community during the fight towards equality." ...

That is clearly an attempt by the drive in to drum up business by "taking a stand" without actually having to do anything. I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't even secure a deal to exhibit the film since they were in an ownership transition. Right now they are showing A Dog's Purpose which has been out for over a month and The Eagle Huntress which is a Kazakh language documentary that came out in 2016.

but I'm not for pushing this type of agenda on our children. My views and beliefs are considered outdated these days, but curious to hear others opinions.
I'm confused. Are you implying this might somehow turn your kids gay or something???

Was it necessary? No.
Is it being blown out of proportion? Yes.
Based on the reaction on here and the poli board I was expecting Le Fou to make out with Gaston with how some of y'all were acting.

This Gaston seems like kind of a pussy.
Also is THIS the entire gay moment they were talking about? A live and worse version of the original song?

Ok, so my post gathered more than I initially thought. I guess I should have known being a some what polarizing topic. My curiosity also had to do with this site being from the south (not that homosexuality doesn't exist here).
To explain to those of you that don't understand, I'm a Christian. I guess I'm not what some of y'all might think as a PC Christian . I believe that everyone who accepts Jesus as Lord receives the Kingdom of God no matter what sin you commit. Yes, we should strive to be like Jesus, but we always fall short...thus Jesus and the cross. I look at Homosexuality as a sin. No different than any other sins we all commit every day.
That being said, I just believe raising my children in a manner of "that's just the way the world is" isn't the right way to raise them.
I appreciate the dialogue.

Fixed it for you. Your girls and your homophobic self will be fine.
I am a Christian and don't think homosexuality is right, but it is not for me to judge them nor condemn them. All I can do is love them and show them the same compassion and respect I do anyone else.
You do know that Jesus hung out with a bunch of criminals and a hooker.

Yea I don't see a big gay agenda here. Kids probably won't even notice it or understand it the way the outraged people do. It's not like he kissed Gaston or grabbed his arse or something, he just sang a song about him

I'm just not watching it because I'm tired of prequels/sequels/reboots/spinoffs.

So you are OK with beastiality and kidnapping but not gayness?

The 1982 Thing is a soulless cash grab? They should have left the '30s book and '50s movie alone?

No kidding.
A brief scene implying that a character might be gay is somehow going to corrupt young minds but an entire movie based on a father selling off his daughter to a man/beast, where the beast brow beats her into "falling in love" with him sends a really great message to young girls.

Disney has decided to add a Gay influence in their recent adaptation of the the Beauty and the Beast classic.
Let me get this straight, you're OK with teaching your daughters the themes of:
An entire movie about a woman who falls in love with an animal who imprisoned her.
The thought that a nice woman should give an abusive psycho plenty of chances because he might be a good guy inside.
A man who basically tries to rape Bell repeatedly, despite her protests, and her dad just kind of goes with it.
A man who then tries to kill the other guy she likes just to be an a-hole.
But the thought that this creepy looking little affeminate dude who worships another dude might want to kiss him is just too much for you to handle?
You people are hilarious.
I always assumed LeFou was gay. I thought the clock guy was gay too.
Go back to the poliboard
