As a kid I remember my aunt crying at the end of My Dog Skip, but any time I watch Seven Pounds I'm on the verge of tears. Barry Pepper kills his roll as does Will Smith.

For war movies, Saving Private Ryan and We Were Soldiers always have me cutting onions.

Eta: American Sniper was a big oversight on my part; the end credits/funeral procession with real footage is powerful

Props to theGarnetWay I thought about this movie and I think he made first mention of it scrolling through the responses.

Probably Dear Zachary. Not sure if it's possible to not get a little teary eyed watching that one.

Grave of the Fireflies for sure. Ebert puts a strong argument for it being the saddest movie ever: LINK

Marley & Me

As a 20 something year old man I was crying like a 7 year old girl. I'm talking all the fricking way crying. You know when you like sob trying to suck in air because you can hardly breathe you are crying so hard? Yeah that level.

Schlinders List

Fluke - Owner dies and comes back as a dog. Has to watch another guy marry his wife and live with his family. I was haunted as an 8 year old watching this.

Saving private Ryan is good

I remember leaving lone survivor a few years back and it was dead silent. Humbling

Not the saddest, but I felt a lot of anger watching Castaway when Tom Hanks finally made it home to his wife only to find out the slut had moved on and was already f'ing someone else.

Manchester by the Sea deserves to be on the saddest movies list.

Schindler's List was my first thought, though.

ETA...7 down votes? Wtf?

That's a good one. Has always stuck with me. I don't know why but it just makes me wonder what if that really happened in your life
