Why do couples that choose to have kids and move to the burbs look down on couples that choose to focus on their careers and have more disposable income? Is it jealousy of all the cool shite they can afford to do and all the free time they get?

Because that's why we are here. To procreate.

I only look down on attractive anglo-saxon couples who choose not to propagate.

It's an affront to their way of life. Or that's how uptight people see it.

Personally, if you don't want kids because you think you're ill prepared for them, or health reasons, or some other sensible reason, I think that's fine.

But if you don't want kids because you don't want to use the money and want to dedicate your life to your career, I think that's weird.

I don't look down on those people for the decision, I just think more than likely I'd find you to be insufferable and generally unenjoyable to spend time with.

Easy.

First, they are looked to be selfish

And second, most of the time the couples that choose not to have kids are the very ones that should have kids, in order to help the gene pool for the next generation, all the while the junkies and the welfare mom's are spitting out babies.

I never really felt looked down upon for choosing not to have kids. The only time I notice people hating is if the child-free couple is super obnoxious about hating children. I love kids, and got a lot of questions about the decision, but never felt flak about it.

It's the old school (or small minded) belief that you MUST get married and kids and that's your lot in life.

Of course this belief could be partially to blame for high divorce rates and lack of decent parenting.

This is accurate. And I 100% admit that I am one selfish mother fricker.

How is that weird? Different people want different things in life

I often agree, though I think it's equally selfish for trashy people who aren't intelligent and have little to share with the world to have kids and then raise them poorly.

I don't, I'm glad people who don't want kids are not bringing them into the world.

I also don't know of anyone with kids that are jealous of those whom do not.

I get pissed because we need more successful, intelligent people to procreate to stop the world from being overrun by Tammy Lynn and Billy Joe who have 11 kids in the trailer park.
