Well Vizio admitted to it recently and are paying a fine. They haven't shared names and addresses though, just selling costumers habits to companies for targeted ads

You wont hear from whomever goes to pick up that TV ever again... They're a future lamp shade as soon as they pull up to that house.

I could walk that tv to my house from his it's so close.

Great prank that we’ve pulled on friends from time to time (and once on me)…
Make craigslist ad for a free item in a different city (large city preferably) for something awesome that’s free, but really out of left field. Like a retro Vespa or movie popcorn maker.
Make sure the ad is legit looking. Steal several photos from google and make up a back story like "Moving to a smaller place and don't have room" or something like that.
Then put friend’s cell phone number on the ad and say “Call my cell ASAP – First caller gets priority”.
Sit back and enjoy. When I say they get a lot of calls, I mean they get literally a constant stream of phone calls without a break for hours. They won't be able to figure out whats going on or find the ad because its in a different city.
PS
This once backfired as one friend figured out call-forwarding on his iphone and put my number on there so I had to take down the ad to stop the calls for the Vespa.

You think the guy at Vizio is watching me on a 70" of his own? Would that work like dating a woman with small hands?

Who says it's a guy at Vizio? Could be a room full of BBWs watching on a screen the size of missile command at NORAD.

According to FTC, the smart TV maker installed data tracking software to collect viewing habits of 11 million of its smart TVs without informing its customers or seeking their consent.
Besides this, the company also collected each household's IP address, nearby access points, and zip code, and shared that information with other third-party companies, who used it for targeting advertising towards Vizio TV owners.
The data tracking software reportedly worked by collecting a selection of on-screen pixels every second your TV was on, and then compared that data to a database of known movies, television shows, and commercial commercials, and another type of video content. This practice is known as automatic content recognition (ACR).
According to the FTC, Vizio also recorded the date, time, channel of TV shows, and whether you watched the program live or recorded and took all that information and connected it to your IP address.
With this data in hand, anyone can know you and your television watching habits, and according to the FTC, "Vizio then turned that mountain of data into cash by selling consumers' viewing histories to advertisers and others."

I've always thought that if I ever went the BBW route, I would have a prefect way to recycle used bacon grease.

I mean all you have to do is not connect it to the internet...
