My boss is doing the Georgia hike in March sometime. It's his first time and he's been buying his essentials recently

I'm hopefully about to do the same, just trying to get logistics and gear together.

Blue Velvet has done it. Odds are he's banned. There is a old thread on here all about it

Did you do the approach rail from amiccalola to springer? If so, was it worth doing?

I did... I believe it was worth it plus there is convient long term parking at the park entrance..I used Ron Brown shuttle services to get back to my vehicle

One of the first comments in that thread made me laugh

I hiked it about 10 years back. I've gotten my boss into it now and we go back every spring and fall to do a section.

I've section hiked a large portion of the Georgia section. Maybe 60ish miles out of the 78. From Springer to Dick's Creek gap. Took me 4 weekends to do it. Hike in a couple of miles on Friday. A majority of the milage covered on Saturday. Out by lunch on Sunday so we could shuttle back to the car and head home. I call 8-10 miles a good day on the beginning sections of the GA Ap trail. You could push a faster pace but I'm not sure there is a need to if you are section hiking it on weekends.

Thanks. I have 18 months left to do the Georgia section before I move away from the Convieneve of being able to do it on weekends.

I did it in six days... that included a few detours to places like long creek falls(One of my favorite spots so far) and getting picked up early the last morning...

So did you park at a trail head, head north and shuttle back to your car? What shuttle? Do you arrange a pick up time or call when finished?

I hiked with friends. We parked a car at the end and drove another one to the beginning. Shuttled back to the beginning after the hike.
