re: Anyone else concerned about Jabar Juluke?

Sorry you are misinformed here. He was the primary recruiter for Kirklin, Carter, Lowell (the reason Lowell came back), Clyde and Racey. Oh and a lil icing on the cake for u, the reason why Akers is not here is bc EO wouldn't give Akers a solid answer on if Jab would be back this year.

Wasn't Ed O's nephew on the pay site saying that Coach O doesn't like Jabbar and thinks he's an idiot?

He needs to go. He was brought here for one reason: to recruit, especially Nola.
He was wholly unsuccessful
It wasn't a great year for NOLA prospects, at all. Thompson was probably the best player, but I think LSU made a staff decision to go after Narcisse/Brennan instead of him. You had the swilling boys who ended up at Ga Tech and the Stewart kid that went to UF. That was about it. I don't think LSU is upset, AT ALL, by the losses from NOLA this year.
Next year is a different story as it looks like the in-state talent will be largely from NOLA and the Shreveport area. If he strikes out next year with the NOLA guys, then you have reason to be concerned.

Really wish we had gotten Curtis Johnson. Would've cleaned house.
Hopefully we hire a damn good recruiter for ST coordinator.

I agree, Lester. I've given JJ shite on here before, but I think there's just not a fair sample size yet.

LSU didn't want that package deal of Swillings. Big Pat hates lsu total waste of time. Now as for Thompson, you can blame Les fricking Miles for that one period.

If he didn't like him so much, why wasn't he let go?

You guys are clueless... unless you know whats going on behind the closed doors of recruiting, just shut up.

How stupid is this, Juluke is the New Orleans recruiter, we didn't offer many guys this cycle in the N.O and we only had room for two RB, we where in on the best rb in the country even without a OC until the end. He also was the point man for Lowell, and Racey remember that.
Frank was the NOLA guy, but he ALWAYS put in work, even if we didn't have a ton of NOLA guys on the board. We can't afford to have a guy that only recruits there, and only brings in 2 guys in a class. RB coach needs to be an ace recruiter because it isn't as demanding a job on the field. If you match Juluke up with Craig, who is the South Bama/Mobile guy and got 2 from there, but also recruited other guys across the board, it isn't even close. One is pulling his weight. The other...so far, not so much.
If O dumps him now, I won't protest. If he keeps him, I will hope he steps his game up next year. We need RBs BADLY in our 18 class. He needs to be able to close a fricking deal, no matter where they're from. If he can't, he needs to be gone. Because we didn't close deals this year, we don't have any room for error for 2018.

I have a friend who's a hs coach and he pretty much told me when we hired jaluke that he wasn't very sharp, and his only saving grace was recruiting. I think he gets run off in the near term. Running back coach is mostly a throwaway position and you use that on an ace recruiter. Would be cool if we could steal Burton Burns from Bama.

If Ed fires Juluke, without giving him a chance, you will see a Revolt of biblical proportion from every kid and parent from the N.O metro area. Every young black coach in the region will send there players out of state. He's from St. Aug, coached on the Westbank at Karr, he can get any kid from the N.O. by just telling his story of growing up in the projects and how he made it out !

He'll be OK. Turn him south of Baton Rouge and he will do great.

Just got reassigned in the athletic department. Basically demoted. Craig is out too.
