My job is great. Great pay, good benefits. Why would I leave over being subject to random drug test?

Sorry I have to work in the morning and be a productive member of society. Not all of us can go to work after 1pm.

So the only productive people in society work 8-5?

Coffee not quite getting the job done, huh? A bourbon or scotch to start the morning? That sounds fricking awful.

So your employer doesn't even allow alcohol consumption by the employees. Is this a daycare? I don't mean do you work at a daycare, I mean are you in a daycare.

Not during working hours. Some of us have grown up jobs where the employer frowns on their employeees being high and or drunk during working hours. After hours, we can drink all we want

I witnessed a guy purchase a fifth of Smirnoff at 6:52 this morning when I stopped at a store on my way to the office. He was dressed for the day.

When I worked midnight shifts, I would get funny looks when I'd buy a 6-pack at Circle K on my way home at 8am.

I guess people don't realize that the majority of 6 figure incomes in smaller southern cities from Beaumont to Mobile(and most of the US for that matter) come from refineries and chem plants where EVERYONE is subjected to randoms from the 300k a year manager to the Helpers(asst operators).

I feel like this was more acceptable when men were men.

My grandfather used to do this, but then he died in his early 70s from a failed liver.

It would also show up on random drug tests that all our employees are subject too.

They're not testing for alcohol, since alcohol can be detected in your piss for up to 72 hours.

Whenever I go in for a "random" drug test, I also have to do the breathalyzer. And if I was here with alcohol on the breath my boss could order a non-random test done under suspicion of being under the influence.

Back in the 70's-80's during the good ole oil field days, it was very common to see offices with guys smoking and drinking during the work day. They would also conduct a lot of business in bar rooms and strip clubs.
This is when America was great
