What is the preferred choke to be used while duck hunting? Include pattern & thread.
I shoot a Benelli Nova. Hunted this AM and couldn't hit shite. Late season birds, flying high and fast.
TIA Did a search, but had no results.

Remington pro bore Kicks High Flyer. I use full in open water and modified in timber.
I shoot Hevi-Metal 2's or 4's

I couldn't tell you what chokes are in my barrels if you held a gun to my head
I've never seen anyone I hunt with ever change out a choke tube
I don't even know where my extra tubes or wrench are
sorry I couldn't help

Probably not due to the choke.

Redhead Blackout Mid-Range extended, ported choke tube on my 870. It's made by Carlsons and the mid-range choke contrition correlates to a light-modified. I shoot Kent and Hevi-Metal #2.
I've been extremely pleased out to 40ish yards. If all goes according to plan, I'm shooting decoying birds and that choke gives me what I need without blowing away the ducks.
I hunt with a guy who shoots the pattern master code black duck out of his Beretta xtrema 2 and he isn't picky about his shells. He is either going to stone cold crush a bird or clean miss. And direct hits inside of 20 yards are not pretty. Just utter carnage. If you take a lot of longer passing shots, this would be a good choke tube for you.
In general, hunters tend to shoot too tight of a choke at waterfowl and too loose of a choke at upland birds.

Kicks modified will murder any bird you're shooting at

I hunted on Wednesday with a buddy who just got a new Maxus with a patternmaster. I saw him drop two ducks at 70+ and I will probably be getting one for next season.

I use a patternmaster. It works well with 2 3/4 regular velocity not fancy shells, which is what I hunt with. Very few cripples and tight patterns.
That said, I've seen my brother knock ducks out of the stratosphere with a 20 gauge and a factory modified rem choke. He used to shoot competition sporting clays and doesn't miss often.
Pattern your shotgun and if it's a good even pattern and not slinging holes every shot, practice more. A $100 choke won't fix bad shooting. It's actually more likely to make it worse as they tend to be very tight.

Kicks High Flyer in a SBEII here... tight pattern for long ways. Head shoot close teal or they will explode.

I shot a mod choke most of my life. Switched to a full and missed more birds than i killed. Switched back to mod and suddenly im a great shot again.

Benelli cryo chokes are as good as any, no matter the marketing. When I hunt over decoys, I/C is plenty, longer passing shots, Ill use Mod. Benelli SBE II, Hevi Metal 3.5 #4...

Have an Sbe2 and I shoot a factory improved cylinder. I'm hunting marsh. I tried a mid range code black and I just didn't like it. My ic loves the blue box federal 3 inch, 1 1/4, #4 and the Kent 3 inch, 1 3/8, #4. Unfortunately I can't find that kent anymore in 3 inch in the heavier load. It will also sling the 3 inch black clouds in #3.
Pattern your gun and take the right shots, when you take lower percentage shots like you said you were. High flying, fast flying, no choke, shot or gun will help. As far as pattern goes it's a weird thing. Prior to this gun I had a stoeger 2000 and dead serious the cheap remington shells were the best pattering shell, while heavy metal and other high end shells left patches or didn't put near enough holes on the sheet.
